Amazon.com To celebrate her smash Come On Over album, country crossover superstar Shania Twain starred in two 1999 TV specials. Winter Break finds Twain in balmy Miami Beach for an outdoor concert belting out hits like "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" along with the Backstreet Boys (who perform with and without her) and Elton John, who duets with the star on surprisingly soulful versions of "You're Still the One" and "Something About the Way You Look Tonight." Thrown in are clips of Twain tooling around her wintry homeland, Canada. The Come On Over special features Twain in a Dallas concert that, in addition to bouncy hits like the title song, goes on cutesy detours with the star, shown hanging out in the Dallas Cowboys locker room, with the team in practice, and with--yes--the Cowboy cheerleaders. The ultimate cheerleader, Twain grinningly leads her audience through her sing-song tunes, which is more than enough to sate her fans. --Kevin Filipski

It's Shania! - She Rocks From Start To Finish - Incredible February 22, 2005 G. Reid (Roseland, NJ) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This video features her TV specials Winter Break & Come On Over. She is the only female artist in US history to achieve back to back Diamond Awards (sales of 10 million) selling albums. In addition to Shania these specials include performances by Elton John, Backstreet Boys, and The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. Shania does a very nice duet with Elton John in Miami, Fl.
The video includes photographs of Shania in her native Canada and of the home in which she grew up and learned to love music. The sound quality on this VHS is outstanding. No need to rush out and buy the DVD.
This video gives the viewer some of Shania's life story in very well conceived flashbacks to her native Canada. Sadly, we learn in one of the flashbacks that her Dad and Mom were killed in an auto accident.
Shania and a team of performers on stage perform "Don't Be Stupid" with amazing high-energy. It is just breath-taking. Most of her songs are wonderfully spirited. She seems to have an endless supply of incredible energy. It is just awesome. Thank you Shania.

Awesome January 28, 2003 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
This review refers to the DVD verison of this title. I have seen both of these performances on TV and recorded both of them on VHS format, enjoying both of them. I was thrilled to see it available on DVD format, ordering it right away. The concert "Come On Over" from Texas Stadium was just awesome the crystal clear picture (on my computer DVD player) and top notch production made you feel like you were there in concert. This DVD contained more footage then what was shown on the CBS special. I wish I could view this DVD on a large digital TV with surround sound. If you are a Shania Twain fan this product in the DVD format is for you.

Shania Twain provides 100 percent on her astonishing and incredible live performance. She totally rocks from start to finish and guest stars such as Elton John and The Backstreet Boys join her on this unforggetable Musical Event held in miami florida. Shania Twain "GOD Bless You Always".
Shania 5 Stars Production Company 3 Stars November 28, 2001 Robert L. Castrone (Phoenix, AZ United States) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Let me first preface this review by simply stating the obvious, "Shania Twain is one of the best, if not the best, musical entertainer of our time". Now any negative comments I make will be directed toward the director, production crew, and the editor. The first concert, Winter Break, performed in Miami is a terrific first attempt at trying to recreate the electricity you feel at a live Shaina Twain Concert. The staging was unimaginative at best, especially if one compares the staging for her second Dallas appearance. The DVD is titled "Shania Twain Live" and is one of the finest live concert recordings in existance. Every manager, agent, tour promotor, or venue booker should be required to watch this DVD one hundred time so that they can show case their talent the way Shania is presented in that DVD. In winter break, Shania's unabassed here worship of Elton John appears, like everything else she say, directly from the heart. Their performance of "The Way You Look Tonight" will knock your socks off, but the editors have not made a cut so that if you want to, you could just play that one song over and over and then want to plays it a few more times. The second concert, "Come On Over" which was additional entertainment after a Dallas Cowboy's home game was great. Shania was as beautiful as ever with the sexist, non revealing costumes. Shania Twain is a giant talent and to waste time with camp type skits featuring several players and the Cowboy Cheer leaders just takes away time from the music industry's most spectacular star. If you want to spent an evening watch a concert venue performer grow into a superstar then not only buy the DVD, but also buy Shania Twain Live.
We can't get enough of this DVD! April 7, 2002 Dawn M. Mcmannama (Olathe, KS USA) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Shania is talented enough on her own, but when you add her band, it is excellent. My family can't get enough of this DVD. She has an excellent band. They are great to listen too, but are also entertaining to watch. There is always something to watch on stage. I especially enjoy the transition from practice to the actual concert in Dallas and when she sang with Elton John in Florida. My children enjoy the dancers. We can't wait to see her in concert when she tours again.
