Amazon.com Max Keeble's junior high career is off to an inauspicious start: one bully chucks him in a dumpster, another tormenter takes his friends' money, the ice cream truck guy is after him, and the self-serving principal is after everyone who stands in the way of his budget-draining football field plans. But his family's sudden plans to relocate give him the moxie to stand up to his foes in a big way. This kid revenge fantasy results in gags like a squirrel in the principal's pants and a cafeteria-wide food fight. Of course, Max (Alex D. Linz) doesn't move, forcing him to take responsibility for his actions, or this wouldn't be a Disney film. The broad humor is clearly meant for preteens, but crude jokes, bullying, and sexual innuendo (thus the PG rating) make it inappropriate for younger kids, leaving it for the narrow age range of about 8 to 12. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Max Keeble. October 9, 2001 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
Max Keeble (Alex D. Linz) is a misunderstood kid who's been picked on and bullied nearly his entire life. When his parents tell him they are moving, Max decides to stand up for himself and eventually changes the way the school looks at him. 'Max Keeble's Big Move' will be a very entertaining movie for kids and adults...a harmless Disney movie that will help people (especially kids) get their minds off of September 11th. It's a heartwarming comedy. It's Disney, of course, so it'll probably have a predictable plot, but it's still worth viewing. The acting by the entire cast is solid, and the plot is actually pretty good, too. It will be a very enjoyable movie and it'll be a smash hit with the kids - I can already gaurantee it! So if you've got kids, then take them to see 'Max Keeble's Big Move'. Heck, even if you don't have kids you should still go see it. It looks like great fun!
Hey thats really funny! Good job Disney!! July 9, 2003 MoonLitTree (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Disney did it again, in a very funny way, didn't expect it to be, thought it would be another one of those pre-teen kidflicks but liked it very much, really. This one had its own twist of funny moments, a lot of it and most of all it is all very nicely done, gotta see it if like funny movies!
Perfect for the whole family! February 21, 2002 Alex (United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My whole family saw this movie and we all loved it, so I never understood why it was a box office bomb! Maybee it's because everyone compared it to "The Princess Diaries" wich was in theaters 2 months before "Max". It perfectly portrays public middle school! It's Max's first day of Junior High School and has plans to make this year better than last. But upon arrival, he finds he is the target of the school bully, teachers are mean, and the girl of his dreams dosen't even know he's alive. But when his dad says they're moving, he seeks revenge on them all, including the evil ice cream man! His skeems to get back at everyone are hilarious! And it gets even better when he finds out he's not moving! There are even cameo's by the child rapper, Little Romeo, and pop sensation, Myra, who's hit "Miracles Happen" was featured in "The Princess Diaries"! Your whole family will love it!

Having been in grade school a few years back, I remember the bullies and life as a short, thin kid... Max Keeble had my revenge! :)"Max Keeble's Big Move" enjoys the ingenuity of "Home Alone" for creating masterful pranks, though not as slap-stick. Not quite in the "Ferris Bueller" category, but appropriate for grade school kids. The message delivered will please parents, and remind them of how hard being in school can be. When Max comes to grips with his mistakes, he takes responsibility. And he discovers that friendship is a great foundation for love. You won't need Dolby for this one. And if it turns out you see it in a second-run theater or rent it, you'll do fine. But be sure to invite a bunch of kids who will hoot and holler through the gags. I fully recommend "Max Keeble's Big Move." Anthony Trendl
