Good but not good enough October 5, 2002 Fish (Indiana) 44 out of 47 found this review helpful
This is a good dvd, buy it. I have never seen the VHS version of this tape, but i think it's all the same. There are no extra features. It has 2.0 stereo or 5.1 surround sound options. The approximate running time is 60 minutes. On the main menu you have the chapter select, audio option, credits, and play whole video. Track List: 1. Behind the Sun 2. Under the Bridge 3. Show Me Your Soul 4. Taste the Pain 5. Higher Ground 6. Knock Me Down 7. Fight Like A Brave 8. Jungle Man 9. True Men Don't Kill Coyotes 10. Catholic School Girls Rule (video contains nudity) 11. Fire (Live) 12. Stone Cold Bush (Live) 13. Special Secret Song Inside (Live) 14. Subway to Venus (Live)
makes me smile from ear to ear August 12, 2005 L. Markley (Solon, IA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
If you're an avid lover of the Chili Peppers, then there's a great chance that you'll get a kick out of this DVD. The video for "behind the sun" is somewhat pointless, mostly due to the fact that it's a cartoon with random clips from the "higher ground" video. i personally enjoyed seeing the video for "show me your soul," as it was made very shortly after frusciante joined the band. "fight like a brave" has got to be one of the most rocking songs to ever grace my ear drums, in every sense of the word, with a great video to accompany it. all the videos are fun to watch, although I would have liked to see a couple more videos included from BSSM, such as "Give it Away." Either way, I know there'll be many repeat viewings of this DVD in my immediate future.
Good enough March 8, 2006 Kurt Hungus (TX) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is worth the money in so many ways,It has all the old school rhcp videos and never really gets old if you are a hardcore rhcp fan.I recommend this DVD.
Great video if you're a real Chili Peppers fan March 22, 2006 T. Breslin (Pitman, NJ) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I hear a lot of people say about this video, "This video only has their old videos, it would be better if they put some newer ones on it." Well, that's the point. If you are a fan of the pre-90's chili peppers or just want to learn a little about their history, this is a great dvd. It contains all of their pre-Blood Sugar Sex Magik music videos, plus some bonus concert footage. If you want newer videos, buy their newer DVD. I personally liked "What Hits!?" a lot, as I am a huge RHCP fan. Definitely worth checking out.
Great if you're a fan. May 18, 2003 zjh_2002 (Iowa) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a pretty cool DVD, but doesn't contain enough videos or live footage. If you're a fan, go ahead and buy it, but otherwise, just check out all ten of these videos at redhotchilipeppers.com, as repeated viewings won't be necessary for you, anyway. The live performances are pretty cool too, even though "Stone Cold Bush" is taken from more than one performance. The best video on here is "Fight Like A Brave." It's pretty cool and stylish. "Taste The Pain" and "True Men Don't Kill Coyotes" are also pretty cool, but the rest are pretty boring or cheesy.
