This is Good DVD January 30, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this DVD from the band's website, and was disappointed because the graphic on the actual DVD wasn't there(one side was the u.s. version the other was the U.K. version) and I didn't receive a booklet. But those can come with the store bought version. The DVD in it's self was very pleasing, it includes 4 live performances, the edited and unedited version of their music video: "From the Cradle to Enslave" and the making of the video. The sound on this DVD is very good. Its just like watching something on T.V. And watching it is just as good, no crappy camcorders. While the videp and making of are humorous and interesting, the live performances are great. The track listings are: Dusk...and Her Embrace Beneath the Howling Stars Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids Malice Through the Looking Glass During the performances the bands gothic models are onstage dancing in cages and playing with themselves on a tomb. All in all, this is agreat DVD, but Heavy, Left-Handed, and Candid is way better and much longer. Both are worth the money from the once greatest band.

Cradle Of Wonderful Gore!!!! January 26, 2005 Gregory P. Niehaus 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you haven't seen the uncut video for From the Cradle to Enslave...... slap yourself. This video could have been pieced together from clippings on the Hammer Horror cutting floor. Mix with a bunch of circus freaks and you have the genius that is the twisted mind of Danni Filth.
Quality Family Entertainment January 17, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this a long time ago when it was first released. Both vers9ions of From the Cradle to Enslave are great. (...) I heard this video got banned from MTV. The song is underrated. A lot of fans don't like ir for some reason. IMHO, it's one of their best songs, lyrically dealing with end of the millenium tensions. Before the E.P. came out, this is what you had. The making of has a lot of nudity, if you have a goth chick fetish. Otherwise, it can be boring, but it's cool seeing how they did some of the effects. The music video is a lost artform. Every day hundreds of thousands of teeny boppers request videos from their favorite cheesey fake boy bands and girl bands. I'm a male and never once did I buy into Britney Spears, proudly I might add. Cradle of Filth are the best modern metal band and the world's best black metal band. The concert footage is nice, too, if a bit short of only four songs. If you like Cradle of Filth, you shouldn't be without this.
AMAZING CRADLE OF FILTH VIDEO December 30, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a must-have for a CoF fan. It contains the censored and uncensored videos for the song "From The Cradle To Enslave", followed by the making of the "From The Cradle..." video. Then it has live concert footage of the songs "Dusk And Her Embrace", "Malice Through The Looking Glass", "Beneath The Howling Stars", and "Cruelity Brought Thee Orchids". Any CoF fan will deeply enjoy this.
