SWEET September 29, 2005 Chester Shinoda (Fremont, NE USA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
If you are a linkin park fan buy this now! If you only knew what went into the breaking the habit video you would be shocked. It shows how the video was made, who made, where it was made. On top of all that you still get to see linkin park up close and personal. This dvd includes the video for breaking the habit. It also includes the in the studio version of breaking the habit. If you are just starting into linkin park i suggest to get Frat Party at the Pancake Festival first. But if you really like linkin park buy this now.
short but good July 28, 2004 S. Balcanoff (Bloomfield, CT United States) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
If you buy this expecting this DVD to be at all similar to Frat Party at the Pancake Festival or Live in Texas, then you have been ripped off. Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed the material on this DVD but it wasn't much. The DVD contains the Breaking the Habit music video, the BTH making the video, and Breaking the Habit Live.

This DVD is a must for any true fan. It contains the Breaking The Habit music video and the Making Of Breaking The Habit. It also comes packaged with a book all about the video. I couldnt recommend this for anyone who isnt a fan, because there isnt much content. But for any fan... this is a must!
So totally awesome! BUY BUY BUY! September 18, 2004 J. Sapir (Riverwoods, IL USA) 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
When I first heard about Hoobastank's video for "The Reason", I said that if they made a DVD of just that video, I'd buy it. I made the same promise when I heard about "Breaking the Habit". I kept my promise, and this is awesome! Not only is the video amazing and the song and band the best ever, but the included cinemanga enhances the experience. It has awesome preliminary artwork, helps describe the meaning of the video, and has awesome profiles of the band members. It's awesome!
Easily my favorite Linkin Park music video. March 29, 2009 John McClung (Freehold, NY USA) If ever there was a music video good enough to deserve an entire DVD and manga book focused on it, it would be Linkin Park's 'Breaking The Habit', directed by Joe Hahn and animated Japanese-style by a team of well-known animators. The song itself is amazing. It started out as an instrumental (which can be heard on the DVD menu), but later had lyrics written for it. Unlike most of LP's songs, it contains strictly singing and no rapping, and while there are guitars there are also live strings and piano. The song is about the struggle to break a bad habit or solve a problem, such as drug abuse, unplanned pregnancy, and adultery, all of which are depicted in the video, but not too graphically. Lead singer Chester Bennington's spirit sees people 'committing acts of loneliness, hopelessness, and abuse' (as described in the book), after committing suicide by jumping off an apartment building. But about half-way through the video, time begins to move backward, and he returns to the rooftop where the band was performing, leaving it up to you to decide if 'breaking the habit' refers to suicide. All of this is explained in the book, which also includes an introduction written by the band, hand-written lyrics by Mike Shinoda, storyboards used during the making of the video, behind-the-scenes photos, band member profiles, and random trivia facts called 'Tokyopop-ups'. The DVD also features the making of the music video and some sort of in-studio performance of the song. Because of the fact that the song and video's subject matter is easy to relate to, you don't have to be a huge Linkin Park fan to enjoy this. Therefore, I highly recommend this book-and-DVD package.
