This DVD is so full historical holes and stinks like week old
Limburger...
This is such a poorly made DVD of such an incredible album. Obviously banking of the success of Eagle Rock's "Classic Album"
series,the pirates at Edgehill have thrown together a documentary that could have been done by someone in middle school.
Here is the short list of what went so terribly bad with this release
1) They do NOT USE the music of Pink Floyd but rather opt for a "cover band" to play the songs on this documentary.
2) The "experts" interviewed and the "host" of the DVD appear to know about Pink Floyd only what they happen to be reading off the cue cards.
3)When actual footage of the members of Pink Floyd does appear you can hardly see it through the credits and copyrights listed on the screen at the same time
4)One "engineer" flubs the pronunciation of the Floyd song,"Astronomy Domine" and then just says, "Or whatever the name of that song was" and continues on with his mis-informed opinion on what the band was thinking and going through at the time of the recording.
Do yourself a favor, make your own DVD on "Wish You Were Here and then do me a favor and sell me one.

Mr.K said it all I just want to chime in and let all interested know this dvd is not part of the Classic Albums(Eagle Rock) series.The "famouspresons" reviewing this L.P. are members of Mostly Autum a great group of musicians who must stop these awful horid reviews of grat bands and records (they have a collection of dvds called Critical Review all of which are a waste of time and money)So before you buy check the production company.Eagle Rock is the one you want.

Obviously the film-material around this album is very hard to get.
It was, and still is, a standout album of the Pink Floyd but for me it seems like this DVD is a throw-away about the real thing.
Nothing new is said for those familiar with the Floyd-story.
There is absolutely nothing shown from that era and the main story is told by some people I never even heard of! (Sorry, if you're famous).
The songs from the album are played in the background but some of them are picked from the live-shows of the Gilmour-era.
Someone who really likes the album but don't know so much about Pink Floyd, will be satisfied with all the things these guys are telling as a fact, or as they feel about it!

This unauthorized DVD uses grainy copies of other published material and a cover band called The Tribe to play the Pink Floyd songs. The only original material is from a bunch of unknowns commenting on the band.
It is a horrendous ripoff and I only wished I read reviews here before I wasted my money!
It is nothing like the Darkside of the Moon DVD which I previously bought. Even that had a defect that locks it up. If there were zero stars I would give it that.

As a Floyd fan, I was really dissapointed with the DVD. For the following reasons:
-I thought there would be interviews and concert footage, like KoRn's "Who Then Now?" but instead It was just interviews with people who call themself experts.
-You hardly see the band, except barely through the credits.
-They don't even use the band's real music, they just use cover bands to do the music.
-There's one dude who can't pronounce the names of Floyd songs. ("Astronime Dominie" instead of "Astronomy Domine", anyone?)
-Historical holes (They saw Syd after preforming the entire album live).
DO NOT BUY! IT IS A CHEAP RIPOFF AND A MISREPRESENTATION OF A CLASSIC ALBUM FROM A CLASSIC BAND!
