AT PACIFIC VISTA HIGH SCHOOL, POPULAR BRITNEY IS CAPTAIN OF THE CHEERLEADING SQUAD. BUT BRITNEY'S LIFE QUICKLY TURNS FROM CHEER-TOPIA TO CHEER-TASTROPHE WHEN HER FATHER'S JOB MOVES HER FAMILY ACROSS TOWN TO URBAN CRENSHAW HEIGHTS. AT HER NEW SCHOOL, BRITNEY FINDS HERSELF AT ODDS WITH THE CHEERLEADING CAPTAIN.

Bring It On: All or Nothing is the idealized version of what happens when a rich girl from an elite California school is forced to transfer to an urban setting for her senior year of high school. Former head cheerleader Britney (Hayden Panettiere, Ice Princess) finds herself with a quandary--does she join the new squad, or does she stick to the promise she made to her old teammates that she'll never cheer again? Given that this is the second sequel to the Bring It On franchise, which started with Kirsten Dunst's 2000 flick, and that there's really no reason for this movie to exist without a match-up between Britney's old and new squads, of course she must bring her pompoms out of retirement. In between routines, she manages to land the hottest male cheerleader, Jesse (Gus Carr), and befriend Camille (Beyonce's little sis Solange Knowles-Smith), the feisty head of the squad. She even excuses Britney from practice when the latter lies and says her family pet has died: "Who am I to stand between a white girl and her dead dog?" Beyond the inclusion of a few broad stereotypes dealt for laughs, this straight-to-DVD movie doesn't dwell on any real racial issues that a spoiled white girl actually might face at a predominantly ethnic school. Unlike Dunst's film, which was mindless but well-crafted, this sequel asks nothing of its actors but to look good and leap high. Bring It On: All or Nothing has already been brought. Twice. --Jae-Ha Kim

4 out of 5 stars Decent Teen Cheerleading Flick   August 2, 2006
    Dorrie Wheeler
13 out of 15 found this review helpful

The third movie in the Bring It On franchise Bring It On All Or Nothing proves to be another entertaining teen cheerleading comedy. Hayden Panetteire stars as Britney. Britney is a rich popular head cheerleader who attends Pacific Vista High School when her life changes drastically. Her father's job situation changes and she and her family move to Crenshaw. The move means bye bye to her quarterback boyfriend and her beloved high school and her head cheerleading spot. Before she says goodbye to her old school once and for all Britney promises her old squad members that she will never cheer again.

Suddenly Britney finds herself a student at Crenshaw Heights High School. The fish out of water thing goes into full swing starting with Britney's first day. She quickly notices that she is the one of the only white girls at the whole school and before she can even enter the building she has a run in with Camille (Solange Knowles) and her friends. The allure of the cheering again soon draws Britney in when she catches the very different moves of the Crenshaw Heights Warriors. The only problem is that Camille, who often refers to her as "White Girl" or "Vanilla Latte," has quickly become her arch enemy. The two women put their differences aside for the sake of becoming a stronger cheerleading squad and Britney joins the team. Problems arise when Britney suggests some new dance moves and then her old cheerleading friends discover that Britney didn't keep her word and is cheering again. The squad has to pull things together quick when all of the local cheerleading teams are out to win a spot to perform at a Rihanna live performance. The situation becomes further complicated as Britney finds herself torn between her old school and her new school.

Bring It On All Or Nothing is decent teen comedy. The film does unnecessarily perpetuate some stereotypes between races. Camille curses quite often and has that stereotypical angry black woman chip on her shoulder for the entire film rarely if ever cracking a smile. One black male student named Tyson seems quite animalistic groping Britney's behind on several occasions. In another scene an Asian cheerleader from Pacific Vista announces that she has a black belt and she immediately poses in a martial arts stance.

The soundtrack to the movie is really good. Three Gwen Stefani songs can be heard between the film and the credits (What You Waiting For, Rich Girl, and Hollaback Girl). Other songs featured on the soundtrack include Weezer (Beverly Hills), and Rihanna's "S.O.S."

This movie is fun to watch and has great music throughout the movie! Although it's the 3rd Bring It On DVD it stands on it's own for an interesting storyline. The street dancing combined with cheering makes it more believable for the music video cheer competition. Also the acting is really good. The movie didn't produce a soundtrack but the music was excellent! Here is a list of the songs:

    1. "What Ya Waiting For" by Gwen Stefani
    2. "Bring It On" by Sean Van Der Wilt
    3. "My Happy Ending" by Avril Lavigne
    4. "Beverly Hills" by Weezer
    5. "Let's Move" by The Transcenders
    6. "Pon De Replay" by Rihanna
    7. "SOS" by Rihanna
    8. "Maryanne" by Jeffrey Foskett
    9. "Over Again" by Fuse
    10. "Pom Pom Funeral" by Tony DiMito
    11. "Mickey" by Transcenders
    12. "Papa" by Papa Reu
    13. "How Cool is That" by Kristy Frank
    14. "What's Up Doc (Can We Rock?)" (Hardknox Mix) by Fu-Schnickens Vs. Hardknox
    15. "Come With It" by Danielle Savre
    16. "Solo Star" by Solange
    17. "Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani with Eve
    18. "Whole Again" by Play

4 out of 5 stars Great "teen" flick that anyone can enjoy!   August 23, 2006

I am in my late twenties and I loved this movie! Our main character Brittany is the captain of the cheerleaders in a posh high school. She is popular, has the star boyfriend and tons of friends. One of her "best friends" and co-captain Winnie (Marcy Rylan) is jealous that she gets all the glory but tries to hide it. Anyway, Brittany's dad looses his job and all their money. They are forced to move to a less "well off" area and Brittany has to leave her school to her utter mortification. The cheerleaders make her promise she won't cheer for any other schools otherwise she would be known as a cheer "slut".

At her new school that is less "posh" she immediately gets off on the wrong foot with the captain of the cheerleaders Camille (Solange Knowles) and two take a dislike to each other. She finds a friend in hottie Jesse (Gus Carr) who is also a male cheerleader and part of the squad.

It's a typical plot with Brittany needing to join the team, struggle for power, misunderstandings, cheerleading competition with Brittany's former friends, etc. but it was done in a was that was decent and interesting!

I use to watch Hayden Panettiere (Brittany) on my soap. She was great but I wasn't sure how she would be in this movie. But let me tell you, she was fantastic! Solange was also good and the "evil" head-cheerleader (Winnie) was great too.

This is a feel good, fun movie to watch with your boyfriend/girlfriend or a group of friends. I loved the romance between Brittany and Jesse (Gus Carr)! He is HOT and they had GREAT chemistry together! I wish they showed more romance between them! And I hope to see Gus in more movies!

The music was great, the dancing was well crafted and the actors did a great job of getting you into the movie!

Like I said before, this is a feel good movie, if you want to watch something Oscar worthy than this is not the film for you. Best Bring It On!

    5 out of 5 stars It's Cheertastic!   June 12, 2009

I don't know why I like this movie. Demographically speaking, the target audience should be 10-18 year old girls, yet somehow I still find myself watching it almost every time it comes on ABC Family. It's filled with ridiculous terms like "cheerocracy" and "cheertator", it's slightly racist in its overly stereotyped portrayal of inner city schools (Shabooya...Sha Sha.... Shabooya??) , and it's about cheerleading. So why watch it? Really, I can't say, but I have indeed watched the entire Bring it On Trilogy in one day, shameful as it is to say. I also saw the original in the theaters. I should probably erase this review soon, I feel it's destroying my credibility as a respectable reviewer. But anyways, I suppose I have to recommend this movie. I enjoy it everytime it's on, although I couldn't tell you why.
