Great Concert December 6, 2006 Milos from Youngstown (Ohio) 18 out of 22 found this review helpful
I have Sheryl Crow's Soundstage appearance TiVo'ed and this seems to be that concert plus about 7 songs. It's really great and would recommend it. Although, my favorite Sheryl DVD remains C'Mon America from 2003. Wildflower is a great winter cd. And Sheryl, well she's the cat's pajamas, as far as I can tell. I just wish she would have performed Anything But Down. I saw her tour this summer with John Mayer and the live version of that song rocked the house.
Highly Underrated Concert DVD August 15, 2008 H. DEHAVEN (Houston, TX USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is Sheryl Crow at her most refined level. The concert rocked and yet was refined. She appeared relaxed and confident. Some reviews say she looked tired. It was near the end of a long tour; she may very well have been quite tired. However, she still put on a really good show and looked good doing it. If you like the Wildflower CD, you will probably like this DVD. If Wildflower is too "calm" or laid back for you (not that there is anything wrong with that either) then you may not like this DVD as much as some of her earlier ones. I love this Sheryl as well as the Sheryl that rocks a little harder on other tours. She is just that versatile. RHB
Well Done Sheryl & Soundstage! August 8, 2008 Wesley Rowland (Oregon, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This DVD is done very well! The sound quality is near perfect(especially in stereo mode), & so is the camera work! The mix of songs are good, and Sheryl's voice is spectacular through out! I had read in one of the other reviews that Sheryl looks tired, so I will comment on that remark. Yes, she seems to do a little less dancing around etc... than previous concerts I have seen, but she also sings a lot of slower songs(hence the wildflower tracklist), on this dvd so she is in a little slower mode some of the songs. I give this dvd full stars, and am looking forward to her latest concert dvd release, SOUNDSTAGE, that just came out a few weeks ago. Also, soundstage is starting to relase several past shows on dvd, and new shows on dvd. Just look up soundstage in the search bar on Amazon.com Thanks for reading my review...
She looks tired. March 5, 2007 D. Byrne (Reno, NV USA) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I guess she says at the beginnning that this is the second to last concert on the Wildflower Tour and it shows. She just looks tired and like she just wants to get the concert over. I LOVE Sheryl Crow and have all her albums and all her videos but this one was a disappointment. The Wildflower album, although I really like it, just isn't really suited for any kind of high energy concert like you might expect from Sheryl. If you really want to see a great video, get her music video DVD. It is absolutely amazing quality but, of course, isn't live. I bought a bunch of those and give it away to my friends along with the Eagles Farewell Tour 1 DVD's (of course, puchased on Amazon). Overall, I would not recommend this one unless you are a die hard Sheryl fan and must have everything.
Possibly Sheryl's best singing ever February 24, 2009 The Thinker Cheryl's singing in this concert is fantastic. It was filmed at the end of a tour, so she was very familiar with the music and her voice was unusually strong from all of the singing she had been doing. She looks relaxed and confident, and she obviously felt free to sing the songs the way she felt them, with soulful improvising that is always beautiful and tasteful and never contrived. I had enjoyed her singing on her studio albums, but the strength and range and freedom of her voice here is amazing. The concert included not only songs from her Wildflower album but also several great earlier songs. The camerawork is excellent and so is the sound. She had a string section on stage with her for this concert, and it provided a beautiful additional dimension to the music. The lighting and staging of the concert contributed to the music rather than distracting from it. This is one of the best concert videos I have seen.
