    1 out of 5 stars I'd give it 0 stars if I could   May 27, 2008

You don't realize it until you open the package, then you see it marked clearly at the bottom of the back of the DVD box: "Not approved or authorized by Pink Floyd, etc., etc.", and I could understand why.
The interviews seem to be by whoever they could scrounge up; people I've never heard of before. The particulary annoying part is when they keep interviewing these people from some cover band. Who the hell are these people and what makes them an authority in Pink Floyd?! They're my age, maybe younger, which means they were barely 10 years old when Floyd was in their heyday. What can they possibly know? It's all speculating. Now how can that be in any way factual? No wonder the band didn't authorize it.
Footage is sparse and repetitive. It looked like they pulled everything from "Live at Pompeii" and "Pulse", other than a few archived videos from the Barrett days (possibly the only bright spot in this bland documentary). Band interviews are taken from other sources rather than performing their own interviews. I could go on....
Bottom line...don't waste your money. VH1 did a better job with their "Behind the Music" documentary of the band....
    Pathetic.

1 out of 5 stars No Stars For This Opinion Piece.   May 19, 2008

Were to start ... how about a bad DVD created by a Pink Floyd cover band??
WTF?? Bonus track tracks featuring some "Mostly Mediocre" cover band?? Do not waste your money on this like I did. I am going to try to get my money back as this is far worse than a bootleg, it is done under the guise of legitimate commentary ... this DVD = CRAP!!

I bought this dvd set hoping to see a lot of interviews from the band..what a dissapointment!! there are very few spots where the guys from the band are being interviewed. its just a bunch of Pink Floyd knock-off and wanna be critics giving their opinions..the concert footage is VERY poor. save your time and money..don't buy this set..its a waste of money..buy Pinks Floyds concert dvd's and see the REAL Pink Floyd..

1 out of 5 stars This is UNAUTHORIZED   May 10, 2008

Don't be duped by another lame attempt by a third-partty thief trying to see if there's still room on the back of the coattails of Pink Floyd. Being one of the most influencial bands in history, along with the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Frank Zappa and a plethora of others means you have to put up with a constant barrage of unauthorized band bio flicks. Like a never ending case of diahreah, these unauthorized legal bootlegs will continue to spew forth. If you buy it, they will make more.

Rarely has an unauthroized biography been worth watching. Since it's pretty much being done without the band's approval you'll see sparse footage at best, and nothing new.

In any case, buyer beware. You've probably had more intelligent conversations about this band with your friends than you might see on this DVD. If you don't mind information that hasn't been fact-checked or run by the band itself, then dive right in. The cover looks cool...and everyone knows that judging a book by it's cover is a safe thing. ;)

1 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY   August 12, 2008

Listen....I didn't buy this off of Amazon. However, I did make the mistake of buying it. THERE IS NOTHING PUT FORTH IN THIS DVD FROM THE BAND THEMSELVES. It's a pathetic attempt from a third party at explaining each album. All you have is a handful of people with British accents trying to sound legit. They even have elaborate "studio" backgrounds to make it seem like they actually have credibility. This was clearly filmed in a shopping center somewhere. Seriously, stay away from it. Amazon should not have this available for purchase.
