Rude Awaking - Lite April 8, 2008 M. Whitley (Cotati, CA United States) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
Bought this thinking that maybe there was some new footage from the old Megadeth years, but this turned out to be the EXACT same footage as on Rude Awakening! Same exact show! A few differences, I suppose: Less than 1/2 the content (10 tracks instead of 23), cheaper ($12.99 vs $14.99) w/o any of the extras. To top it off, the set list is completely out of order! Shame on you, Sony/BMG! Don't be duped by this ripoff money grab. If you want old Megadeth, run, don't walk, away from this and pickup Rude Awakening instead!

What would you think when you look at this page and see a new DVD from Megadeth for sale which claims "Megadeth Live 2007"? Well, since the page doesn't show any information about it (or at least nothing USEFUL) you may believe (surely) that it has good pieces from their past tour... Truth is that the only thing this DVD has, is some songs from Rude Awakening, aka, the tour of "The World Needs a Hero". For those who would like to know, the set list is this: -In my darkest hour -Hangar 18 -Symphony of destruction -Trust -Peace sells -Dread and the fugitive mind -Wake up dead -Reckoning day -Devil's Island -Return to hangar 18 Really, the music and the sound quality is not bad, but hey, why put a sorry selection of old songs when there is already a whole show from that era available on DVD?? and why this information is not on this page??? Two stars because of the undeniable quality of Megadeth music, but this is not really worth buying, since the whole show is a far better option.
Megadeth: Hellyeah! But nothing new from the guys... March 21, 2009 J. W. Morris It was with great excitement that I realised Megadeth had a DVD out that I didn't own. That excitement was somewhat lessened when it became immediately apparent that the DVD was filmed on the same night as parts of the 'Rude Awakening' DVD. That, and the at times, poor camera work took the edge of what would have otherwise been another Megadeth masterpiece. A real highlight to mention however, would be the extended solo to Symphony of Destruction :) Is there a greater Songwriter, Lead/Rhythm guitarist and Singer in the world than Dave Mustaine. I think not!!
