You'll be Feelin Better May 16, 2004 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Feelin Better is one of the great Hank Williams Jr. songs that never made it to the radio. You'll never find it on a greatest hits album, so pick it up on this cd. Like many Hank Jr. tunes, it's autobiographical, but this one ranks right up there with Family Tradition. A careful listen will reveal outlaw great Waylon Jennings adding his unique guitar sound to the track.Although that song alone is worth the six bucks for the cd, you get a whole lot more. Hank Jr.'s cover of "Uncle Pen" puts Ricky Scaggs' to shame. Belting out Gordon Lightfoot's "Looking At the Rain" in a baritone voice, Hank Jr. proves he can make even a hippy song sound manly. If you're like me and love Hank Jr.'s late seventies early eighties raw honky tonk rock-a-billy sound, then you'll love this cd.

The New South is an album about changes. The south changed and so did Hank. This album is the epitome of southern music a must have for the true fan, and truely a good c.d. everyone tries to steal from you when you play it!
If Hank Jr. can't take you there....nobody else can!! January 17, 2002 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Listening to this cd is like taking a ride into Hank Jr.'s world in the passenger seat of an old ford pickup. I once owned the cassette, The Early Years, and one of my all time favorite songs on that one was "Storms Never Last"..which I feel is one of the prettiest and soulful country love songs ever made. From the 1st song on this cd.."Feelin Better through to the last track....Hank Jr. is able to tell you of his metamorfasis tale of feeling he had to leave the fold of Old Country to begin this journey into New South Country he has established himself so firmly into. Gotta love this man....plain and simple... He is certainly an American Treasure. Montgomery in the Rain...New South...this cd is all Hank Jr. the way only Hank Jr. can do it. This cd is a great start into Hanks World...but you will not stop with this one...there is so much more. Thanks Hank..God Bless You!!

A great album. Part blues, part country-rock, part acoustic. Pure heart. Pure Hank. One of the very few country albums I can listen to from start to finish.
It's hank so it goes without saying it will be great July 27, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
