| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Christmastime is a time when families get together and sing a few old favorites to raise some seasonal cheer. That's exactly the spirit you'll hear on the Jackson family's holiday gathering--albeit with a few more eye-popping performances than in most home get-togethers. Michael, Jermaine, Tito, and their sibs flash energy and enthusiasm aplenty on old-time faves such as "Up on the Housetop" and "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus." And even when they take things down a notch for ballads like "Christmas Won't Be the Same" and "Give Love on Christmas Day," the affection and tenderness shine through in the way they can only at a true family celebration. --David Sprague
Album Description Brothers Michael, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito & Marlon performing 11 classic Christmas anthems, including 'Frosty The Snowman', 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' and 'The Little Drummer Boy'. 1997 Spectrum reissue of 1970 Motown release.

Give Love on Christmas Day November 28, 2001 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Originally released October 15, 1970 this cd still sounds fresh and alive. The brothers' bantering (though forced and stiff) before a few of the songs and playfullness throughout give a sense of family and togetherness that I love. Sure they aren't always in top singing form, but I forgive them 'cause I love them so much. Also the high energy and delight they have singing songs like "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Calus" and "santa Claus is Coming to Town" is infectious and washes away any blemishes. "Give Love on Christmas Day" is perhaps one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs as it perfectly sums up the what the holiday is all about - love. For true J5 (or Michael) fans or those who want a fun, energitic family themed Christmas cd, you can't go wrong with the Jackson 5 Christmas Album.
Truly a classic January 23, 2000 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is one of the best Christmas albums I know. It's interesting that the boys were able to put so much into the songs and they were Jehovah's Witnesses at the time (most of them still are). Their version of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is truly enjoyable. "Give Love On Christmas Day" never has and never will sound more perfect than it does on this album with Michael's mature voice providing the lead. Of course, no one can forget the most popular cut on the album, "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." Michael's high and shrill voice makes it the most distinctive version of this song ever. For those that love Christmas music, the Jackson 5, or both, you MUST have this album. It will truly make your holiday a lot more special.
J5 Christmas Album review December 8, 1999 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
My older brother purchased this album in 1970 and I have not listened to it in 25 years. When I saw that amazon.com carried the CD, I jumped on it. This is a great album for children of the 1960's and for children of the 1990's. If your a Jackson 5 fan and you love Christmas, this is a must for your collection.
A Must Buy If You Love Spirit Of Christmas! July 7, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love the whole theme of Christmas; the air seems different, the sounds, the walks around your neighborhood to visit friends and family is more fun. The atmosphere around christmas just rocks and the first thing that goes into my cd player the day after Thanksgiving when the Christmas holiday begins is this disc! It just captures the holiday like I remember, running around the house in footie pj's and looking to see if you could catch your parent's wrapping a gift or two. The music is outstanding! The arrangements are built around Michael's voice allowing the notes and soul in his vocals to ring loud and clear and it is most evident in "The Little Drummer Boy". He pours his heart and soul into it as does the rest of the clan. The disc goes from Holiday cheer to social commentary "Someday At Christmas" is such a well crafted and well sung ditty about the state of war on the human psyche, that you will find yourself humming it for days-odd as it may seem! The best track on the disc is "Give Love On Christmas Day" It allows all the funk and flavor of the Motown sound to rattle you until the chorus swells into a grand production that you just can't help but learn the lyrics and sing along! Truly the best Christmas album ever made!

my brother and I grew up to the jackson 5 and this record was like a tradition to us that somehow went down the drain, but now i'm going to bring it back to life with my children.
