Join the Peace Train... March 18, 2000 P. Zackrisson (Trollhattan, Sweden) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have loved Dolly's music for 15 years and when she released Peace Train I played it every day for weeks! I am a DJ and when I work, Peace Train is the perfect song to finish the evening with. The temperature almost rises to fever pitch when I play The Holy Roller version. It has an irresistible beat, a fantastic gospel choir and a fabulous piano. The cream of the cace is Dolly, singing the song the bottom of her heart. All of this creates a happy feeling at the club and people actually leave it with a smile on their faces, partly thanks to Dolly I think. All the remixes aren't as good as The Holy Roller but still quite exciting. Junior Vasquez has done a great "Arena Anthem" mix (with a really cool middlepart) and Julian's Morning Passage mix is almost as good as Holy Roller. This is one of the best releases from 1997 and if you STILL haven't got it, I suggest you buy it NOW.

First of all, who would ever think about doing dance mixes of an old Cat Stevens song? Secondly, a country singer gone techno? No wonder this track got so much buzz in the music industry. And the reason for its amazing longevity on the club charts is that this is GOOD! Dolly's voice is strong enough to carry a hard techno beat, yet still remain sweet and soulful. A crossover success, definitely. All you dance mavens out there, get this one before it goes out of print!
Very good club music from a COUNTRY singer December 5, 1999 Stephen J. Dumont (Dallas, TX USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
IF y'all thought that Shania's dance mix of "That Don't Impress Me Much" was great, then this cd is a must have for you collection. I love the way she mixes in the piano with the beats. That is the best way to make sure that a song is a club hit. She has a beautiful voice that just flows through the entire song. If you like dancing, then get this cd. You won't be able to stop.
