Logic would dictate that if Aaron Neville can't make it a soulful Christmas, nobody can. Neville's one of the only mere mortals who can actually deliver on the old saw about having a voice so sweet he could sing the phone book. Problem is that Neville, who is notorious for making the wrong career choices, probably would sing the phone book if someone signed the check. Consequently, even though he includes the typical standards on Soulful Christmas, they still ring true with his magical voice. "Such a Night" and "Louisiana Christmas Day," however, stand out with soul and are required additions to any funky holiday party mix. --Michael Ruby

From the opening strains of Charles Brown's "Please Come Home For Christmas" you know you're in for a treat as Aaron Neville turns it up a notch for this collection! The musical arrangements are also great, and the interesting re-working of "Such A Night" indeed turns it into a Christmas Classic!A nice combination of traditional hymns and carols , as well as the more popular holiday fare. The voice is the difference here, and it makes for on of my new holiday traditions!

This album has turned me into a devout Aaron Neville fan!I play this tape virtually every day, and really crank it up for "O Holy Night". His incredible voice has brought profound new meaning to this traditional Christmas Carol. Try it - you'll love it!

When i first heard this christmas album I was blown away by the sheer beauty and brillance of this man's voice. It sends chills up my spine to hear him sing these christmas classics...

Kept coming back to "What a Night" and "Lousianna Christmas Day". It cannot get better than this. The traditional Christmas Songs are sung perfectly in clear voice rendering heartfelt renditions. All in all this is a must have, terrific album. There is something for everyone. Not one bummer here.

this album is absolutely wonderful ,perfect for every sentiment at christmas. it seems to me he ends all of his albums with a hymn or inspirational song not just his christmas one he guite simply has a voice and a heart of and angel
