I am an avid Madonna collector and I have been looking for a copy of this CD for years. I used to have the cassette single when it was first released in 1996 but I misplaced it. In 1999 I started collecting Madonna CD's, vinyl, cassettes etc. and I wished I still had it. I looked everywhere online for this CD and finally bought it from an amazon.com's marketplace seller (thank you!)
Now, on to the CD. It contains a remix of the song called "Soulpower Radio Remix" which is fantastic. It's very r+b/mellow/soulful. I love this version. The other track is the same remix that appears on the Something To Remember album, which is just an enhanced version of the 1984 Like A Virgin version, with a few added instruments and what-not. This one and the original version are ok, but try to find this CD for the soulpower mix.
P.S. there were several official dance remixes commisioned for this song which were NEVER commercially released which is sad because they are REALLY good. I have an in-house reference CD printed by the record company that contains these remixes. They really should have released a maxi CD to compliment this 2-track. If you haven't heard them yet, try to find these remixes:
1)Hot Mix aka Extended Journey
2)Edge Factor Dub
3)Early Morning Dub
I know what you're thinking, dub versions are lame. NOT in this case! These dub versions (especially the Edge Factor one are beyond amazing!
Anyway, this CD gets 4 stars from me. good song, great cd cover, awesome remixe(s)

"Love Don't Live Here Anymore" was originally released on Madonna's 1984 album Like A Virgin. In 1995, the song was put on Something To Remember, a collection of Madonna's greatest ballads. "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" was one of the songs chosen as a single to promote the album. The song itself is decent, although an odd choice for a single. This single has the Album Remix and the Soulpower Mix. Neither of these remixes deviate much from the original album version. There is not much reason to buy this single unless you have to buy everything Madonna releases (like me).

This is maybe my favorite song of Madonna, at least of the ballads anyway. It's a very touching, sad song. I love the way it opens with the title phrase almost a capella. A very cold, hard love song that speaks of regreting lost love. This was originally on Like A Virgin; on this CD single you get an update that manages to capture the spirit of the original.
