    5 out of 5 stars Whitney's Greatest CD   July 19, 2004
10 out of 10 found this review helpful

If I were alive in 1990 I would have bought 3 CDs. "Mariah Carey", "Wilson Phillips", and "I'm Your Baby Tonight". This CD is truly Whitney's best. Each of the songs are so unique and great to dance to or just ponder over. "I'm Your Baby Tonight" is the dancey-romantic song of the album (every album has one) while "All the Man I Need" is the slow romantic song (another essential of any album). "I Belong To You" is the best and most underrated track on the album. "Who Do You Love" is another great of this album. Surprisingly "We Didn't Know" with Stevie Wonder isn't the best duet Whitney's ever done. "My Name is Not Susan" is a funny song, while "Anymore" is another album jewel. This was Whitney's last studio album for 8 years, but it filled the gap perfectly. Bottom Line: While many don't like this album, it's Whitney's best!

    4 out of 5 stars I'm Your Baby Tonight!   January 11, 2006

Let's go back shall we? When Whitney Houston worked with the best in the business and every music person in the business was appreciative of her outstanding and unique voice. When Whitney worked it with these majestic mavericks in the music industry.
Where are they now? How much does a woman have to give? Here on just "I'm Your Baby Tonight" is an album that took Ms. Houston to new heights and I don't care if she ever recorded, "I Will Always Love You," but she did. This CD now is a remarkable reminder of her phenomenal talent as a vocalist. It is so bittersweet that her recording of "All The Man That I Need" is the man who watched her right now at the age of 42, I'm 44 watch her career evaporate somehow. I miss Whitney Houston's voice and charisma...she is timeless, but how much time will go by for those who love her to hear her sing again?

5 out of 5 stars First Dance Album is Platinum Hit !   January 18, 2000

"I'm Your Baby Tonight" is Whitney's first "dance" album and it's a true sensation. It's no suprise that the album sold way over 4,000,000 album copies, as well as 2,000,000 singles, and not to mention spawned two #1 singles ("I'm Your Baby Tonight" [gold] and "All the Man That I Need" [also gold]). This album is a real gem. So get it now before the time comes when finding it will be like finding the Supremes third album. Remember the name of it? ... I didn't think so.

    5 out of 5 stars Houston, we DON'T have a problem!   December 16, 1999

I love this cd, but then I love all things Whitney! "My Name Is Not Susan" is just plain great. Everytime I hear that opening I just get the chills. I also like "I'm Your Baby," a GREAT mood piece I play it everytime I feel lonely. I'd also like to recommend "I'm Knockin'." It's not everyone's favorite but if you listen to it enough you start seeing where Whitney was really commin' from on this album. A very nice conclusion to a great cd. Highly recommended for those unfamiliar with Houston's work!

    5 out of 5 stars Whitney's 3rd Arista album very excellent!!!   February 3, 2007

I'm Your Baby Tonight was Whitney Houston's 3rd album with Arista. It was released in 1990 and contains some great songs on it. Why is this title discontinued? What is the reason for it to not be available anymore? That is what's peculiar here. Whatever the reason as to why this title is not available anymore is anyone's guess. It doesn't make any sense to me as to why this title is discontinued. There are some songs on this title that I like. The title track, My Name is Not Susan, Anymore, Miracle, All the Man That I Need, After We Make Love, and I'm Knockin' are the song titles on this album that I like. The front cover picture of Whitney sitting on the seat of the motorcycle is a great one. To the folks at Arista: Please reissue this title back to fans of Whitney's so that they will have a chance to enjoy it again. Whitney fans: Until this album is reissued, you'll just have to bear with getting it used.
