The Classic Heart and Core of Less Than Jake November 10, 1999 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Being a fan since '96, This is the album where Less than Jake gives themselves a name. It should be agreed upon that there is not a single 'bad' song on this album. If you love to skank (fast), this is the one to get you off the ground as opposed to Losing Streak where you might tend to get into a slight moshing mode. Nevertheless, they still have the songs 'my own flag','johnny Qeust','Jen', and 'One last cigarette' that make you want jump, kick and sing along. I Recommend PezCore before you get 'blue and white','bootleg a bootleg', or the pez collection. Otherwise it's your choice between the rest.
this cd is solid but go with loosin streak September 18, 1999 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
do not get me wrong this cd is really good but if i had to pick one less than jake cd to go w/ i would have to say loosing streak becasue it never gets old and it is just awsome from beginning to end all of the time. And if you guys want the second best less than jake cd got w/ blue and white but the thing is you can only buy it off their site less than jake.com but it is their second best album but if you are a big less than jake fan go with this one to add to your collection but not to start off w/
One of the best CD's ive heard September 13, 2000 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
ok let me say that i wasnt the biggest ska-punk fan before. my friend left this CD at my house so i listened to it, and let me tell you i am now hooked! i think many other people got it right when they said that there is NOT a bad song on here. thats what makes it so good. you dont have to program your stereo to skip the songs you dont like, cause they're all good. One last ciggarette, where the hell is mike sinkovich, downbeat, liquor store and Jen doesnt like me anymore are very catchy songs, as well at many others on this 19 song CD (each song is usually just over 2 minutes long. i also love the secret song to the theme of 'laverne and shirley' (i think thats what it is). So if you like ska-punk or even if you dont, give "pezcore" a listen. its a great album.
God Bless LTJ, God Bless them every one June 8, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This album is one of the greatest by the greatest band on earth. You can tell (if your a first listener) that this is when LTJ was first budding due to a garagebandlike sound. Some of the songs rock so much, that they have used them in their later CDs. The punky/ska/butt-kicking music and lyrics are awesome, and it does me proud to call them a band. This title by LTJ is the way to go if want something worth listening to.
