Excellent single from the world's finest March 5, 1999 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Though not perhaps in the same league as some of his other work, this excellent single (taken from his debut studio album 'Grace'), is very good. It also includes the b-sides 'Tongue' and the fantastic 'Lost Highway'. Definitely worth a listen. If you enjoy this, then the other singles, 'Last Goodbye' and 'Eternal Life'are both for you. True brilliance.
Great single. Real b-sides! May 22, 2001 Dangerous Soybean (Georgia.) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you own other Jeff Buckley singles or EPs you'll notice the only b-sides are live songs from "Grace". That isn't the case here. "So Real" is probably the strangest song on the album, and one of the most addictive. Watching the "Live In Chicago" concert, you can see that it was one of his favorite songs to perform. Now for the bonuses: "Tongue" is rarity. Not only are there no lyrics, but it loops over and over and builds upon itself. You have to hear it to know what I mean. It's really something else. "Lost Highway" is one of my favorites. Hearing it you imagine Jeff playing it while sitting on the porch of a southern house that's in shambles. Or walking down a dirt road, barefoot. I give this 4 stars. It's really great, a must-have.
