Her best recording to date July 23, 1998 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
First off, I want to clarify any confusion that might be out there for Sarah Brightman fans--there was a US release (under the Angel Records label) of this CD titled Time to Say Goodbye. Like Timeless it has the same song count and content, only arranged slightly differently in terms of song order. So if any of you fans have Time to Say Goodbye, please bear this in mind if you are considering purchasing Timeless.Secondly, regardless of which version you see, buy it. This CD is absolutely stunning. Sarah's maturity in both song content and interpretation is profoundly evident here. Her voice is at its purest to date, perhaps the best example of this is Bilitis-Generique. Even though there are lyrics (albeit limited) to this song, Sarah's voice sounds more like a musical instrument than it does a vocal addition to the harmony. The mood evoked from this piece is absolute tranquility. If music could ever conquer stress than this album certainly achieves it better ! than any other, all forms included. The songs here are tightly interwoven. Her duets are powerful yet do not detract from the solo pieces. In addition, if Sarah is ever to get out from under the ALW shadow in the minds of her critics, than this is certainly the album that will do it. Her performance as Christine in Phantom, though stellar, seems light years away from the global talent making music on this record. To say Ms. Brightman sings on this album would be all too understated and too much a disservice to both her and the volume of work that is Timeless....

I have been listening to Sarah since I was eight years old ( I am eighteen now; I started with the Phantom recording ). This is my favourite CD of all time. I first heard Con Te Partiro during an English presentation in school. When I asked my friend if I could borrow her CD, she send it to me in tissue paper so that it would not get damaged! Of course I immediately went out and bought it. Now, all of my friends and family listen to it. It is the greatest CD to listen to when you get stressed ( like, during final exams ). Anyone who loves music has to get this CD.
This is IT!! May 3, 1998 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you only get one Sarah Brightman CD (which doesn't have a lot of Broadway), make it this one! From the first track, "Time To Say Goodbye", to the last, "Alleluja" from Mozart's "Exultate, Jubilate", Sarah's voice is spellbinding. There are no songs on here that are NOT perfect...each one sounds as if it were written with her in mind. Even though these aren't the Lloyd Webber songs for which she is better known, the sound is refreshing. If you enjoy good music, you will love this album!

Most listeners will not notice the differences between "Timeless" and "Time to Say Goodbye". Aside from the song-order the two albums have all the same songs and the covers are almost identical. Most listeners will not want to buy the same album twice.
You must listen to this album! June 11, 1999 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
"Time to Say Goodbye" and "Timeless" are of the same content. "Timeless" is a better quality recording, worth the extra price.
