This single will take you back to the times when Janet Jackson released her album smash, The Velvet Rope. It was a time when Janet wanted to take her fans into her private thoughts, emotions, as a way to help those facing difficulties as well as releasing her pains and putting issues on the *spotlight*. It was also a time when Janet joined with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on a project to tackle social issues such as AIDS awareness, domestic abuse, and more. "I Get Lonely" is the third single from her 1997 Velvet Rope album and features 3 versions of "I Get Lonely" offering something different for the average music listener.
"I Get Lonely" (TNT Remix Edit) (Featuring BLACKstreet) (4:16) has similarities to the regular album version yet it falls short in length and adds vocals by BLACKstreet with the remix done by Teddy Riley. While Janet's voice is heard often it blends nicely with the featured artist. The added vocals by BLACKstreet make the listening fresh, and somewhat a mellow R&B jam to embrace romantically!
"I Get Lonely" (LP Edit) (4:02) sounds very much like the regular album version too but is a minute or so shorter in length. Overall, this track brings Janet's sound more in the spotlight to a degree by creating a longer play but a shorter time length.
"I Get Lonely" (Jam & Lewis Feel My Bass Mix - Radio Edit) (4:02) is the same in time length as the previous track but has much more added bass, booming blends of sounds, and faster paced beats. The upbeat tempo is enjoyable for sure! There are interjections of other vocals, instruments, and even train sounds in the background adding much variety to a rather low keyed yet pleasurable song.
This is the best CD ever May 14, 1998 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
