Ace Frehley is God. January 16, 2006 Chip Whitley (Wilmington,CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Alot of customers bash Second Sighting for its commercial appeal, but the power ballads on here are some of the most powerful, catchy rock-ballads EVER. Tod Howarth's high pitched singing tone might annoy. but Ace has never sung a ballad ever,so I guess i'd rather hear Howarth's ballads than Ace trying to struggle through a softer song.Ace's best work is his Raw rock tunesbut Ace Frehley's raw rock n roll voice makes this album worth it. 1.Insane-This is undoubtably Frehleys best song on here it just leaves you beggin for more. 2.Time Aint Runnin Out-One of the more rocking ballads on here, still a solid track though. 3.Dancing With Danger-Ace at his rocking best 4.It's Over Now-Todd Howarth's epic love song. 5.Loser in A Fight-both Ace and Tod sing on this one, probably one of the weaker songs on here 6.Juvinile Delinquent-Powerful,anthemic,great song. 7.Fallen Angel-Another Howarth ballad, this one is one of the catchier power ballads. 8.Seperate-Great song, great guitar work, great hook. 9.New Kind Of Lover-Tod Howarth REALLY lets loose his rock n roll talent here.best Howarth tune since "Breakout" from Frehleys Comet. 10.The Acorn is Spinning-Ace's fast, powerful, shredding guitar work reminds us why he's one of the greats. Best Songs:Insane,Dancing With Danger,New Kind Of Lover Worth it.
Very Good Underrated Album March 29, 2006 Tom (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've listened to this album a lot over the last couple of years and I personally think it's better than the first. I enjoy all the songs except maybe Time Ain't Runnin' Out. A couple of the songs could have been recorded with a little more oomph, listen to Separate on this album and its OK, listen to the live version on Loaded Deck and its brilliant. Juvenile Delinquent is also a little slow, when they played it live at the Limelight Club at the start of the second tour it really rocked. The best song on the album I would say is It's Over Now, which is a great ballad. Insane is a great tune too. Definitely buy this is you're a fan of Ace, just don't expect hard rock.
2nd one, as good as the first. February 5, 2006 Mark A. Wilkinson (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the 2nd album by the comet, and it is as good as the first one. His guitar work on this album is more mainlined but just as heavy, and well worth the money. Stand out tracks include, The Acorn is spinning, and Loser in a Fight. This album plain rocks!
Ace's Second Effort February 26, 2003 Sean Parauka (Orange, CT United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This album is a somewhat good album from Frehley's Comet. While the band's debut album was a good success, in a way this album doesn't seem to capture the same magic and unity of the first album. Ace and Tod wrote some good anthems with a good solid melody. The opener by Ace, "Insane" is a good solid heavy metal anthem with a smooth going guitar riff and a very loud and thunderous drum beat. Another good tune by Ace, "Juvenile Deliquent" has a strong rythem with a good anthemetic lyrics. The song that is really a good piece of work is Tod's ballad "It's Over Now". The song contains very heavy keyboard melodies and the song itself is very passionate. The song actually fits as a wedding song. Tod sang his heart out on this song. The melody is so loving, and so full of passion. It's something you would want to listen to with your girlfiend or boyfriend because it contains such a loving mood. Another good song by Tod is "New Kind of Lover." The song is a heavy keyboard tune with a fast chorus. If you are a Ace Frehley album collector, this album should be your next choice.
Underrated Classic! April 16, 2002 Dave Fruge (Metairie, La. United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't agree with the other reviews. I think every song on this disc is great! While I prefer Ace to Todd Haworth, Haworth cowrote both of the "Frehley's Comet" albums. His songs are good, though, especially "Time Ain't Running Out"! This don't sound anymore like glam metal than any of Ace's post - Kiss material. Giove this a shot. You won't be sorry!
