Album Description Deleted in the U.S.! The only single taken from the Fab Four 's 1996 collection 'Anthology Volume 2'. It's backed with three exclusive non-album tracks, a live version of 'Baby's In Black' from 1965 at the Hollywood Bowl, plus 'Yellow Submarine' (Unreleased Version) and 'Here, There & Everywhere' (Unreleased Version). This was the second 'reunion' track to feature the three remaining members voices electronically overdubbed to John Lennon's original vocals. EMI.
Album Details Now Deleted in the USA is this Second Single by the 'electronically Reunited' Beatles. Includes Three Exclusive Tracks Found Only on this Single!

Great Song February 26, 2005 Julie A Ross (Pleasant Hill, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
In 1995, the Beatles began working on their "Anthology" project, and I believe this CD serves as a good preview to the set. You get the newly recorded song, "Real Love," and outtakes plus a live version of "Baby's in Black" from the 1965 Hollywood Bowl concert (which, I might add, was not released on the 1977 Hollywood Bowl record, so it is truly unreleased.) I now own this single on CD and vinyl, just because I love the Beatles. "Real Love" is one of John's best songs ever.
Mini-Anthology February 24, 2000 ADP (Washington, DC USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Of the two "Beatles Reunion" songs that ended up on the Anthology CD's, "Real Love" is the slighter (to my ears, it bears a strong resemblance to John's "Just Like Starting Over.") Still, it has much of what made the Beatles so memorable--gorgeous melodies that seem like they grew organically, like crystal formations, and almost as lasting. The other three songs are important for Beatles completists, since they do *not actually appear* on any of the Anthology CD's! The first is a good, if unspectacular, live version of "Baby's in Black" with a funny intro by John (actually, most of John's intros were funny, come to think of it). Then comes a working draft of "Yellow Submarine" that is a reason to buy the CD all by itself, with a spoken intro by Ringo and a wider (and wilder) variety of sound effects, including more John Lennon shouting. The CD closes out with a collage of early takes of "Here, There, and Everywhere." This is quite listenable, but omits the chorale-like three-part harmonies that were the song's best asset. (In addition, "Here, There..." sounds very strange coming after "Yellow Submarine," instead of the other way around).
A few bits of history...and what might have been July 2, 2003 craig newman (dallas, texas) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
On a chilly night in December of 1980,the question of "Will the Beatles ever get back together?" was drowned out by the sound of gunfire that erupted, killing John Lennon.Fifteen years later,Beatles fans got the closest thing they were ever going to get....The Beatles Anthology. This single set features the newly recorded "Real Love".A re-mastering of an unrecorded John Lennon piece featuring new vocals and instrumentation by Paul,George, and Ringo. The song is a beautiful, and haunting, mastepiece that touches every soul.Beatle fan or not.The disc also features three classic Beatles tunes not on the anthology. In a way, that's like the way the band used to do things.Release songs strictly as singles and not put them on the albums(Like "I wanna hold your hand","I feel fine",and "Hey,Jude")."Baby's in black" is taken from a concert(Now we have the technology to drown out the screams). While "Here,There, and Everywhere" is a early take,"Yellow submarine" proves to be the real gem.It features a narrative opening by Ringo and increased sound effects through out. This is a must have for Beatlemaniacs.
"No Need to Be Alone..." June 11, 2003 W. Langan (the end of the world to your town!) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Like the "Free as a Bird" CD single, this CD features a "new" Beatles song and 3 tracks not on any of the 3 Anthology albums. It's too bad both these CD singles were discontinued in the USA. "Real Love" started out as a 1979 demo by John Lennon with Paul, George and Ringo adding musical contributions in 1995. Next is a 1965 live recording of "Baby's In Black" at the Hollywood Bowl (John tells the audience "I hope you can hear me, I'd be disappointed if you couldn't!"). "Yellow Submarine" features a spoken introduction from Ringo. Note that the sound effects are slightly different from the Revolver version. Finally, there's an alternative track of "Here, There and Everywhere" with Paul's vocals singletracked. The cover features a rarely seen photo of the Fab 4 circa 1965 looking happy.
Great to hear some different versions!!! June 29, 2007 music lover 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was excited to hear this after purchasing "Free as a Bird". As usual, the sound quality is above average, but some of the performances are not. Yellow Submarine's new sound-effects mix was too much, and it took away from the song itself. Here, There and Everywhere's new mix wasn't very good either, as it featured only a guide vocal by Paul for the instrumental takes, not a stronger vocal take. I understand that these are meant as a glimpse into the process of creating these masterpiece songs, but surely some better material could have been used. On the plus side, "Baby's in Black" sounded fantastic, and makes me wish that all of the material from the Hollywood Bowl concerts would be reissued. Overall, not a bad disc. I guess Beatles fans should take what they can get since EMI and Capitol are still withholding some of the most prized Beatles recordings in their archives from CD release.
