Your only source.... July 23, 2003 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This 1994 European release is the 1st single from the "Bedtime Stories" album: guitar-and-R&B-beat-driven "Secret."So far the only source where you can get "Let Down Your Guard" - the non-LP, B-side and heavily-R&B-infuenced track. The song sounds more unfinished than polished with raw beats and relaxed, apathetic vocals. Very unique number and a perfect B-side, as this type of musical experimentation would not fit well as a part of an album ("Bedtime Stories" in this case) and with the judgmental critics. Note: this single does not include any remixes of "Secret", just the regular and instrumental vrsions + the B-side "Let Down Your Guard"
Buy it for the bside November 12, 2000 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Bside Let Down Your Guard is marvelous. Its the most R&B flavored Madonna song. I wish it made the album, but clearly they didn't think it should be on the album. Lots of people hated it but Ive grown to like it quite a bit. A nice single for fans to have.
get it get it GET it July 12, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this is one of 5 singles MAdonna has released that actually contains a non-album B-side! (the others are Ray Of Light, Music, Cherish and the import of Papa Don't Preach) so this is definitely a gem for your singles collection, and the track is good.

I only bought this single to hear the song "Let Down Your Guard"..I was really surprised..the song is fantastic! I wish too that it had made the album. An excellent effort by Madonna and D. Austin! The rest of the songs are just the Album Edit, Instramental and Lp Version. If you love her songs it is a must just for LDYG!
NOT THE BEST MADONNA MAXI November 14, 1999 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This maxi single contains a 4:30 edit of "Secret," as well as the lp version(5:03) and an instrumental(no vocals)version(5:04). There is of course the nonlp track, "Let Down Your Guard"(4:33), which is a unique R&B influenced track(though not much of a song), but if you are a huge Madonna fan, you might want it.
