A seminal Christmas morning recording! December 23, 2003 Aaron C. Dial (Wilmington, DE) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I grew up with this album played every Christmas morning, along with others. As an adult, I still find the original music found here remarkable, especially with the between-song narrations of Cash of Christmas' in Dais, Arkansas, as part of a poor family during the Depression. What a special record this is. My musical tastes, as an adult, span many, many genres, and I own essential recordings in all of them, but few have stood the test of time, or move me more, than this Johnny Cash Family Christmas. I'm thrilled I have it on CD now so my little boy can grow up listening to it as I did. Hopefully, with Cash's passing, it will return to general distribution until it is finally appreciated for the Christmas masterpiece it is.
Is this the one with the blue cover & snowglobe? December 24, 2003 Mike Driehuis (Burlington, Ontario) I listened to the one with the blue cover and the snowglobe (against my will) for most of my formative years. Now oddly, I find myself singing..."Christmas time's a'coming....Christmas time's a'coming...." I know my dad has an old scratchy version I could port over to CD but I'd rather have new on CD. So is this what you are selling?
