The road leading to perfection September 27, 1998 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
True - this is not Tristania's best CD. True - this one only had four tracks.
But if I told you you still get value for your money - wouldn't that say something about the quality of the music? Buy this - listen to it, and I'm quite sure you'll search everywhere to get a hold of their full-length album, "Widow's Weeds". Hopefully, it too will be available here soon, but to make things easier for you - try Napalm Records, or Napalm Records America. Get the CD - it's unbelievable.
Lower quality but still good! July 24, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well, truly I like the CD, but I wish there was more songs and I wish it had better quality.
SIRENE (10/10)
A nice introduction, accoustic guitar, choir, piano, synthesizers, and violin. It starts slow and calm, but then it just keeps working up and up, and eventually it reaches the height to...
MIDWINTERTEARS (9/10)
Midwintertears! This song isn't much different from the Widow's Weeds version, just a tad longer, and the keyboards are different.
PALE ENCHANTRESS (8/10)
No different!!!!
CEASE TO EXIST (7540147891517891578978947154175484/10)
Their best song made!!
Well, it's very good stuff... November 27, 1998 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
It really kicks %$#... I'm just glad I live in the Netherlands and can get both, this and Widow weeds easily, I hope that some label publishes it in America as well... Which category would I put this in? Dark-Gothic-Classic-Metal mixture? That would be too limited. If you are a dark soul, this is the life-essence you long for.
TRISTANIA rules October 11, 1999 This is a really great album. Fortunately I also got Widows Weed and the new album. Tristania rules. (By the way : this music is called Romantic Gothmetal)
