3 out of 5 stars Another Quality Album from Squeeze   September 22, 1999
Squeeze is my favorite band. This is one of their better efforts of late, and will no doubt be more popular than "Play" and "Ridiculous".

It's got a new sound that makes sense, but is still Squeeze.

A very enjoyable album, and well worth having (I have the import).

5 out of 5 stars Another fine record from a great band   June 8, 1999
I've listened to this one about 8 times now and its sounds better each time. The band is tight and energized and the recording, while spare, certainly doesn't lack anything. The vocals are terrific as usual. Squeeze makes some wonderful pop music and this an album to be proud of.

4 out of 5 stars Buy This Album...You Will Be Glad You Did...   March 24, 1999
'Domino' is a wonderful new sound with a new band. As usual, this talented band comes up with an amazing track called "A Moving Story". As you loyal Squeeze fans have probably already noted, the track picks up where "Up The Junction" left off. This is one of Squeeze's greatest talents (and trademarks) of telling a superb story. Along with "A Moving Story", "Domino" and "To Be A Dad" are sure to go down in Squeeze history along with greats like "Labelled With Love" and "Slightly Drunk". Pick this one up, you will not be disappointed.

3 out of 5 stars Solid and workman-like effort from pop pros.   February 16, 1999
    lawmat@webtv.net (Holtsville, NY)
Songwriters Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook are back with three new bandmates. The lyrics dig deeper than ever, but this release lacks the hooks and vibrancy of Ridiculous in 1995. Production, obviously done on a shoe string budget, is of sub-standard quality. However, run of the mill Squeeze is still far better than the vast majority of music available. Loyal fans won't be disappointed, while others will wonder "how come these guys aren't famous?"

5 out of 5 stars Excellent songs make up for low-budget production   February 5, 1999
    Richard Bradley (FlamingHat@aol.com) (CT, USA)
Although recorded with very little budget on an indie label, Squeeze's "Domino" is a bounce back from the last couple of mediocre albums they've put out. In fact, it, along with "Argybargy" and "Play", may be one of their best albums ever. "To Be A Dad" is a Squeeze classic, "Whats Wrong With This Picture?" contains some brilliant Tilbrookian chord changes, and "Short Break" is a wonderful Difford lyric. Recommended for anyone who likes Squeeze's classic material.
