All three albums all boxed in one. October 21, 2002 Distant Voyageur (Io) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
This box set contains Enigmas first three albums all packed in one. All three of the albums are worth owning and spending the tons of money on. MCMXC is a dark, moody album with a Gothic medievel mood. Cross Of Changes is much brighter with little of the Gregorian Chants and in their place is more of a Native American, Aboriginal mood. Enigma 3: Le Roi Est Mort Vive Le Roi! is like the child of the previous two albums with the Gregorian Gothic sounds of MCMXC but with the daytime feel of Cross Of Changes and overall with a more of an aquatic feel and a whole different sound altogether from my perspective. All three albums are worth owning.
Close your eyes, and loose yourself. Pure Magic! September 8, 2003 Sarah (Australia) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
I first became interested in Enigma about 6 weeks ago. Yes, thats all. I found out about them VIA Frank Petersons works (Producer for Sarah Brightman, composer) and immediately bought this trilogy when I saw it in Melbourne. Basically not knowing what it would be like, I lay down and entered into the world of Enigma. I don't think I've been back since!Enigma draws in the listener, much like Lord of the Rings immerses the reader. Enigma is spiritual, medieval, tribal and all round wonderful. As soon as I heard "The Voice of Enigma" and "Sadeness," on MCMXCa.D, I was captivated and then it got even better with "Mea Culpa" and "River of belief." The second disc (Cross of Changes), has more timeless songs including the excellent "Silent Warrior" "The eyes of Truth," "I love you ... I'll Kill you" and "Return to Innocence" and these were really special. This one is more tribal, less Gregorian style and it took me a while to get used to as I love the good old Gregorian stuff, but still, it prepared me for disc 3 (Le Roi Est Mort Vive le Roi!) which, I have to agree is like the cross between the two, and I loved this album! I'm not going to list these, as every track is very, very good. I love to listen to Enigma on my discman at nightime, that way I slip into another world as I'm falling asleep, thats how they want it to be, and thats how its meant to be. You know I loved ENIGMA TRILOGY that much, that after that, I bought "The Screen behind the Mirror"(fourth album) and "Love Sensuality, Devotion" (the best of Enigma) and this is all in the space of about a month. Looking forward to the new Enigma album "Voyager" very soon!, I'm an Enigma fan now and forever, The voice of Enigma screams: BUY ME!

The TRILOGY Box Set is a beautifully packaged anthology of all three of the original Enigma albums, including MCMXC a.D., The CROSS of Changes, and Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! Featuring the greatest hits of Enigma, this set is a must-have for fans of Enigma, and other enthusiasts of other "enigmatic" types of music. The set includes such hits as Sadeness, Mea Culpa, Return To Innocence, Age of Loneliness, Out From The Deep, and Beyond The Invisible. This set features special packaging and CD labels of the normal, Virgin releases.
Exquisite! April 2, 2000 Hugo Reyes (Ventura County, CA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
For me, Michael Cretu is one of the best modern composers there are! He has done an excellent job with creating the music of Enigma. This is an excellent trilogy to hear and feel his music. You can start with Enigma 1 (MCMXC A.D.) discovering a world of Gregorian Chants and travel your way to Native American sounds in Enigma 2 (Cross of Changes). Finally, you can turn off the lights, take a deep breath, and relax listening to Enigma 3 (Le Roi Est Mort Vive!) with a combination of both. These are truly the best CD's I have! They have awesome music and meaningful lyrics. (Enigma 4, The Screen Behind The Mirror, has the best lyrics ever! I recommend that also). Anyone looking for a time of relaxation and a trip to an ambigious, enigmatic world should buy this.
You will just love this collection February 15, 2003 MegaX (Nazareth, Palestine) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Really worth the price. I got ENIGMA TRILOGY and TRILOGY FANTASY in one package. my happiness that day was in that package I got. So relaxing, powerful, and energizing music. The song I liked at most is "4. BEYOND THE INVISIBLE" (third CD) this song is so powerful and energizing (Just like alot of other songs within this collection). I'm sure almost all of you heard of "ENIGMA" and familiar with the type of music ENIGMA represents. Well, listen to this, If you like this type of music just get this CD plus FANTASY TRILOGY and you'll definitely find happiness. However, If you never tried this type of music before then it's time to try it. It might be your new love.
