Amazon.com Ten Foot Pole have been around for a while, but with the release of Insider, the group might well infiltrate Middle America and become MTV darlings faster than you can say "Green Day." The record is packed with blustery guitar rhythms and whiplash-inducing beats, but it's rooted in simple melodic songcraft, recalling prime Bad Religion, early Offspring, and, at its most commercial moments, Ned's Atomic Dustbin. Lyrically, Ten Foot Pole explore traditional themes of alienation and angst (yawn), but musically, Insider is a cut above most happycore offerings. --Jon Wiederhorn

wow, just amazing tunes. December 18, 1999 Tony Pullmyfinger (my own private hell) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
what is up with all these people saying they love punk rock, own about 4 punk cds, and not like Ten Foot Pole? TFP is the greatest punk group, along with Pennywise, Strung Out, and more! The drumming is just amazing. Tony Palmero is the second best drummer in the punk rock scene. (Byron McMackin of PW being first.) He can play faster than any other drummer, and still keep in rhythm. Glen Vegas is an incredibly talented bass-player, and Dennis Jagard and Steve VonTreetrunk are awesome guitarists. Dennis fills the punk tunes with his mellow voice, which you can actually understand, and Glen does a great job with the backing vocals. Insider is without a doubt, one of the greatest punk cds out there. if you like the melodic punk, or melodic punk with a little hardcore/old school punk style, you will love this. i do.

Ten Foot Pole kicks out another great album! August 15, 1999 aic2758@aol.com (Ct) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ten Foot Pole is one of the best punk bands out there. They have a good singer and a great drummer. With songs like The Getaway and Officer I Swear She's 19, how can you not love this album. The reason it only got 4 stars was because I believe Unleashed was a better album. But don't get me wrong, this one still kicks some major butt.

The Best Album From Some Of My Favorite Punks June 18, 2000 Tim Yanagisawa (Long Beach, California) Ten Foot Pole have been one of my favorite bands for quite some time, and out of all of their records that I own this is definitely the best. It includes some of the best drumming I have ever heard on any punk or ska album. Another great aspect of 10 Foot Pole is their great sense of melody, on such songs as Another Year Goes By, Officer I Swear She's 19, and The Getaway. The bass is strong as ever, and the guitar is driving, and easily compares to such bands as the Bouncing Souls and Lagwagon. There are the usual starting and stopping and loud and quiet aspects to the songs, although far different than their other records and songs. I really enjoy the vocals, and that is the band's strongpoint, switching from snotty punk to alternatively melodic. My favorite songs on this CD are The Getaway, Another Year Goes By, Another Half Apology, and I Got Your Letter. Another reviewer said that 10 Foot Pole are one of Epitaph's finest acts, well after listening to this you'll say they are the finest.
