Buy this title if you are a collector! June 17, 1999 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm a Madonna fan from Turkey.I try to buy every Madonna CD.Don't buy this so called remix ep.There is nothing special about it and it's too expensive.Luke slater and Fabian remixes are extremely boring.I advice you to buy the single version of this title.Dallas Austin's low end mix is pretty good and you can find this mix in single version.
"Freedom comes-- Freedom comes-- Freedom comes-- Freedom..." July 6, 1999 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Man, what can I say about these remixes? "Remixes" isn't even justifiable; "Obsessive-compulsive" is the more appropriate adjective. Huh. I mean, WHAT was Luke Slater doing?! What was he THINKING?!?! "Freedom comes-- Freedom comes--" Oh, come on!!! Someone seriously needed to tell him toget that finger off that repeat button. Hmmm, maybe he's deaf.... Sheesh!!! I think William Orbit should have gotten ahold of this song. I have faith in him. I have the remixes of "Ray Of Light," "Nothing Really Matters," "Frozen," and with great sorrow and disappointment, I have the remixes of "The Power Of Good-Bye." Hmm, if I think Madonna had heard any of these remixes, I think she'd PROUDLY walk into the ocean! "Ray Of Light" was so unbelievable; I love it! "Nothing Really Matters," the original, is FABULOUS! But alas, the repetition arises again: "Future-- Future-- Future..." Ugh. "Frozen" is incredible. Get them all. Get them all-- except "...Good-Bye."

Here's the deal, this maxi-single was not released in the U.S. and I can see why. They were only released as a promo 12" and yet became M's first club promo to not chart on Club Play AT ALL. 1. LP Version: wonderful ballad as appers on RAy of Light 2. Low End Mix: a funky version of the oiginal. this one's ok and has a kind of asian interlude going on in the middle 3. Super Luper: AWFUL!!!!!! 4. Filter: I actually like this one :P. It's very scary-sounding 5. Good God: This one's decentIf you don't like experimental music, steer clear!!
The Power of Goodbye December 3, 2004 MaverickDGA (Oakwood, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a real gem to have. The Japanese version is the best one of The Power of Goodbye. It contains all four commerical remixes Available and a supperior Jewel Case/Insert, as do all Japanese cds.
1. Album Version: The orginial version. You can not improve on perfection.
2. Dallas Low End Mix: This is a more simplistic version. You will hear more of the acoustics in this version than the album.
3. Luke Slater's Supper Lupper: NOT Supper. This version sounds like it should be a club version of Ray of Light. The only lyrics here are "Freedom Comes" and the are repeated over and over and over. This version is okay, but should NOT be a remix of The Power Of Goodbye.
4. Luke Slatter's Filtered Mix: Exclusive to the Jappanesse/Australian Version. This mix is a bit more "dark", shall I say. It has a real electronica feel, but I don't like the way the lyrics were done, at all.
5. Fabian Good God Mix: This version is decent. It is another club mix, but better than any of Luke Slaters
Experimental Fans Need Apply February 17, 2004 Tim Chapin (Madison, Wisconsin United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not the usual Madonna dance mixes. For the experimental sound fan.
