| Customer Reviews: Enya's The Celts 24kt is as Good as Gold! July 29, 2000 Mr. (USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After Enya's first foray into working on a soundtrack (The Frog Prince) she came to the attention of Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator) who was working on a special project for the BBC entitled The Celts. Music was needed and in the end Enya was hired. Since this is a soundtrack, most of these pieces were done instrumentally with a few exceptions. I Want Tomorrow is a beautiful song with Enya singing it a bit similar to her earlier piece, the title track of The Frog Prince, only this time holding the notes a bit longer (and no drum machine). Epona is a very pretty melody which would later be used in the film LA Story, starring Steve Martin (as well as the Watermark track, Exile). One of the nice added features of this newly remastered CD compared to the original version (simply titled: Enya) is the inclusion of an added piece to the song Portrait, originally 1:23, now 3:11. The added music is referred to as (Out Of The Blue) and it is very lovely. For those of you thinking about just buying the Box Of Dreams set, you will be disappointed to learn that this album is the only one that is not included much at all with that set. Why they decided not to include more from this album is anybody's guess. But now it is available in a 24kt Gold edition, which sounds incredible. The clearness and crispness of each track makes this an ideal choice and in my opinion, well worth the price. Thank you, Enya. Don't stay away too long.
