The Best Love Song Of The Decade October 10, 2001 Francisco Gullon Arroyo (New York, NY USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
"To Love You More" may be, without a doubt, the best love song of the past decade, but surprisingly, Celine's record company didnt promoted it to became a single in USA, but in Europe, the song was number 1 in Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, and even UK. The Japanese went bananas with the song. As original written for being the opening tune for a Japanese mini series, the song became the most successful song ever, and also became the best selling single of all times there, selling more than 5 million singles! After all of that, I just can't explain why that song wasnt released as a single.
This has the BEST violin solo! May 15, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Hey there! This single has a really awesome violin solo, and I should know because I have played it! It is very typical Celine, and I think that everybody will love it!
This is an essential disc October 9, 2000 Ted N. (Portland, Oregon USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
First, congrats for finding a site that features this hard-to-find Japanese import. You've heard this song in the clubs and at the gym, and you know you love it for the timeless dance classic that it is--yet it's only on this import disc! Go figure. Anyhow, you'll find 3 dance versions of the song, plus the slow version, for a total of 4 tracks. So now that you've found this secret little disc, by all means get it--you know you'll enjoy it.
Mediocre mixes November 20, 2004 Erica Anderson (Minneapolis, MN) Let me just say that I am not a fan of Celine Dion's music. I think most of it is sappy, overproduced pop trite which makes me ill for the most part. If the drippy lyrics weren't enough, it is Celine's vocal acrobatics that drives me batty. Still my disdain for most of her music (and pop music in general) hasn't stopped me from liking a couple of her songs. My favorite song by Celine is the gorgeous ballad "To Love You More". I first heard this song back in 1997 on Rick Dee's radio show. True, the lyrics border on the cavity/vomit inducing side of pop music but I just couldn't help myself but love the song. I kinda hoped that Sony would have released this song as a single here in the US but they didn't. Thankfully there were was a import single of the song which I bought. I really wanted to hear how the song sounded as dance songs. Unfortunately I didn't think the remixes had the same punch as the remixes for "My Heart Will Go On". I liked the first two remixes by Tony Moran (the crossover and pop remixes) however the I'lL Be...Waiting vocal mix is something to be less than desired but I have heard worse remixes than that. Still it was interesting hearing "To Love You More" remixed.
One of the Best Songs written July 19, 1998 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Celine Dion is and will always be the queen of powerhouse ballads. She has undoubtedly taken her career to new heights with the release of her album Let's Talk About Love. "To Love You More", being the third single in the United States, is by far one of the best songs written. Combining Celine's unparalleled voice with an awe-striking violin, this song goes above and beyond. Even though the song is approximately five and a half minutes long (that is, before the radio cut), every second contains lush orchestration, a curious piano background, and an emotional intensity that can't help but give rise to goosebumps. A deep story of the pain love can bring, this song defines what a love triangle is. Celine and company even throw in an artistic element--a grand pause before delivering the highly emotional climax. And, as an added bonus, after the climax is over, the song becomes an intensely musical chorale. This song is one of the most marvelously orchestra! ted pieces of the decade. Let this song be the one you love more than the rest. You won't be disappointed.
