Try not to groove - I dare you April 21, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sizziling combination of Pop, funk and electronica, this energetic band experiments with all kinds of genres that lead to a delicious result. Sordid, seedy yet upbeat and poppy, this album is the perfect compliment to the Gurge's harder rock debut album, Tu Plang. Quan Yeoman's sound is amazing. I was fortunate enough to catch this band live in Australia and was blown away by the energy and intensity they displayed. None of their enthusiasm is lost in the studio with this excellent album. I defy anyone to keep still when it is playing. I recomend everyone to check out this album as well as Tu Plang and their newest album, Art. Do yourself a favour and get the whole story.
Regurgitate this ! August 14, 1999 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
since i'm the only one to review this monster, its up to me to point out it is a great album, the music maybe electronic but its still original once you hear the tracks the more you love them especially !, this album is definately worth an !
Gurge are one of the best bands to come out of Oz in years! September 12, 1999 This is a fantastic album. If you let this one go you'll be sorry. The Gurge combine original ideas with some hard rock and groovy electronic sounds!!! They are even better live!!
Totally original electronic pop songs September 29, 1999 Great album from the boys down under. Electronic- it may well be, but The Gurge have the ability to pick up their guitars & blast out a great pop song- that sounds like nothing you've heard before. Get into it- these guys are fun & like most Aussie bands- They dont take themselves too seriously.
the earth moved for me too... November 18, 1999 gurge rocks my world, the happiest songs with the weirdest lyrics, would not live without it. the only minus must be that the songs could be a liitle longer, the cd finishes to soon! - very hard to get a hold of in denmark, though.
