| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Adam Sandler plays an immature 32-year-old who adopts a son to prove to the girlfriend who just dumped him that he can be responsible. Those familiar with Sandler's Saturday Night Live shenanigans won't be surprised by his behavior, and several of the movie's bits are interspersed throughout the soundtrack. For the music, it's a mix of straightforward rock (Garbage with "When I Grow Up," which sounds suspiciously like Vanity Fair's "Hitchin' a Ride"), unexpected covers (Sheryl Crow refining Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine," Everlast and the White Folx tripping out on Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart"), '70s kitsch (Styx's "Babe" and Yvonne Elliman's disco anthem "If I Can't Have You"), and inquisitive singer-songwriters (Rufus Wainwright, Shawn Mullins, who asks the George Harrison question "What Is Life?"). Melanie C (Scary Spice) surprises with the rock-oriented "Ga Ga." Just in case things seem too serious, Tim Herlihy ends things with the Mr. Rogers-like "The Kangaroo Song." --Rob O'Connor

It's all about Rufus Wainwright, Raise the Rufus June 25, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have no idea why Rufus would have a song on this inane movie's soundtrack, but he does. This is the main reason to buy this CD. Garbage is great as well, and Sheryl Crow is ok, I like her cover of "Sweet Child of Mine", but she will never rock it like Axl Rose. Keep trying, maybe she can cover Motley Crue "Shout at the Devil" next. MAIN POINT, RUFUS IS DA MAN.
Good Parts Outweigh the Bad December 9, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Although there are a few terrible songs on this album (Everlast's nonsense, Limp Bizkit's sad attempt, and Mel C), there are some great tracks: Garbage's now-ubiquitous When I Grow Up, Styx's classic Babe and BAD II's also-classic Rush. Also, if you don't know Rufus Wainwright, he's actually an interesting singer worth hearing. The dialogue clips also make this a must-buy for fans of the film.
wonderful soundtrack, one of the nicest around August 10, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
great soundtrack, with many great tracks like; Mel C's Ga Ga,Yvonne Elliman's If I Can't Have You, Everlasts & The White Folx's Only love can break your Heart, etc. all the tracks r cool...except the last song...The Kangaoo Song, pretty weird to include this song in it but that track is quite cute...Really!
"Instant Pleasure" June 18, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Rufus Wainwright, quite possibly the best singer of his time, does a great cover of "Instant Pleasure." Buy it for this song.
For All Personalities December 30, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Whoa! Afer I listened to this cd I was just like wow! and i told all of my friends about it. they all love and obsess over this awesome cd! It's for all music personalities. If you're into oldies and 70's and 80's stuff, you'll enjoy the rockin' songs by styx and other artists. I'm not a fan of older songs but I really enjoyed the styx songs. if you're into comedy, you'll looove the Kangaroo Song. If you've seen the movie, you'll know what i mean, and I love Dance/Rock music. This cd has plenty of it with Garbage and Limp Bizciut! everyone loves the movie dialouges. On this cd there's everything from blues to alternative. There's so many awesome songs on this cd but I don't want to fill up a whole page sharing my thoughts, so just simply Buy this cd! If not, you'll miss out on some great music, you can play at parties, or just on your Sony Discman!
