Lyrics are creative and comical - June 23, 1999 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In contrast to the reveiw provided by Scott2233@yahoo.com, I found this particular tract in good taste. I grew up in love with Robert Conrad as Jim West and found Will Smith's lyrics both creative and comical. Mr. West was famous for "helping ladies in distress, in and out of their dress..." And Lord knows, back then, I wanted to be one of his conquests. Although I'm certainly not a connoisseur of the hip/hop/rap genre, I found the music in this tract catchy and upbeat. Regardless of whether you like the rap style or not, I do know one thing: A title tract's obvious intention is to sell the movie and whenever I hear this song, I find myself smiling fondly at the image of Robert Conrad dressed in black leather, and before too long, I am bouncing to the beat of the "Wild Wild West." The bottom line is that everyone I know, including myself, can't wait to see this film and as far as I'm concerned, Mr. Smith has done it again! His "Wild Wild West" tract is doing for this movie what his "Men in Black" tract did for that smash hit and no matter what you think of this song, you have to give him credit for that. Of course, as funny as you are Will Smith and even though I loved you in Men in Black, you can never be James West for me! That role can only be filled by Robert Conrad in my fantasies!
sorry i bought this one September 11, 2002 Karen D. Larry-Moyer (Cuyahoga Falls, OH USA) sounds better as snips on the TV commercial for the movie rather than as a 5 minute record
What's the point of rap anyway? August 20, 1999 I'd rather be listening to the sound of the jet engines of a Russian-made airliner
I loath the movie and I loath the song. August 8, 1999 Who's idea was it to allow this guy to act? My God, he can't sing or write. This song is soooooooooooooooooo trite. Sounds like every other Rap song minus vulgarity.
