Powerful German 'Medieval' Metal June 8, 2001 Paul Fini (Santa Barbara, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of those albums that COMPLETELY blows you away when you first listen to it, but the appeal of the album doesn't stop there... it gets better with each listen. Sure, it helps to undertand the all-German lyrics (which are often dark and deep) for complete immersion, but from a purely musical perspective, "Hochzeit" has an amazing amount to offer. From anthems with power chords and ripping guitar solos to quiet, almost humble ballads, StS proves that they're at the top of their game, whatever the style. This was the first StS album I heard, and although their others are also often amazing, "Hochzeit" remains my favorite. "Bruder, Du bist tief gefallen... AUFSTAND!"

They did it Again! Subway to Sally, a Young Band from Potsdam in Germany, have Delivered with their 5th Album "Hochzeit" is the best Album ever from them. They Combine Heavy Metal Sounds with Music from the Middle Age. The Best song on this CD is "Die Rose im Wasser" The Lyrics are Unique and no other Band can Combine these two Music Styles as Subway to Sally! For English only People: Try first the Album "1994"
Svbway to Sally July 12, 2005 Anatoly Kuznetsov (Pankow, Berlin) Subway to Sally is one of the most amazing "folk metal" bands of Germany to date. The blend of medieval instruments with "traditional" metal instruments is amazing. This album is very good, as are all their others. I found out about Subway to Sally about a month ago, when I was visiting Berlin. My friends brought me to a open air festival where Subway to Sally played one of the most amazing concerts I have ever seen. Honestly, the albums don't do them justice. Oh, the only problem is, if you don't speak German, I doubt that you will enjoy them very much.
