"Antidoto" ("antidote", for you non-Greek speakers) is a very exotic collection of songs, some of love lost and love gone wrong, some outright dance numbers. Vissi's voice goes through lots of nuance and range, and the music is sharp and polished.

My favorite songs are #1, #3, #5 (the title track and a very heavy rocker) and #11. Vissi lets the listener in on her romantic torment, with nothing held back. If you enjoy steamy Mediterranean ballads, here's a great record drawn from a variety of time-tested themes.

well, this kind of music is completely unknown in england. some people reject it just because it is different. i am really interseted in music, specially world music and i have seen this album recommended in lists, so i bought it. i think it is one of the best world albums i have evr listened to. it combines traditional music with rock and pop sounds. especially like "antidoto", "o ponos tis agapis" (sooo weird and original!) , "mou anikis" "gialla" and "metismeni mou kardia". the booklet is perfect too it should, however, have the lyrics in english as well.

As a Greek fan of Anna Vissi there are no many comments I have to make on her voice and personality all these years she is No1 here in Greece.This woman has offered me terrific feelings through her songs and her outstanding performances."Antidoto" ("Antidote") is the peak of her performing strength I could say.It is a mix of love ballads which make you shiver and Mediterranean sounds which have the power to entertain you in such a beautiful way... I believe that she deserves a greater career than that she already has here in Greece.Her abilities are huge and she can manage creating an international career in a very interesting way.Her latest international release "Everything I am" is an example of what Anna's voice can do...Listen to "Kick the habit","No more the fool","After you" or "Forgive me this" and you will easily believe that she is a great performer who belongs not only to Greece.She belongs to the whole world and I hope that she will be supported to have the opportunity to show her outstanding performing abilities to all of you...

This is an outstanding CD. I am a professional belly dancer and am always looking for new music. I came across this CD in a search and my troupe is currently working a 4 piece routine to 3 of Anna Vissi songs and will be performing it later this year at Rakkasah and belly dance competitions. She has an incredible talent. I would definitely recommend this CD for listening pleasure or dance pleasure.

she has a wonderful voice, but i think she has the power to do more...i'm waiting for her first english album, should be released at the end of this century, well, if i can believe to all that rumours, let's wait and see!
