This Song is SO Cool! February 12, 2001 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I think this is the best Madonna song ever! I listen to it on the radio whenever it is on.I reccomend this CD!
Brilliant, but get the maxi-CD March 23, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I consider this track one of the best off 'Music', but when you have such an amazing maxi-CD on sale, why buy this CD-Single? There are a few things about the single version of this song that are truly remarkable :a) The stop-start beat. Much has been said about this, so I won't go into it. b) The lyrics. They are really profound, and at times Beatlesque. And what could she possibly mean with 'Tell the bed not to lay like a open mouth of a grave' ?? As usual, everything is open to interpretation. c) I loved the way the dance beat starts after the quiet interlude of 'Tell me love isn't true, its just something that we do'. d) The way the song closes, with soaring violins and a reversal of the stop start beat, is wonderful and very innovative. Amazing. All in all, a great track, but remember that the maxi-CD has the video as well.

I love this song.Sometimes I hear "Don't tell me" on the radio and can't believe its Madonna. She keeps growing with every new album she puts out.I think "Music," is going to win all the grammy's this year.

One Of Her Standout Songs April 18, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Never in my life have I heard Madonna's lyrics sound almost reminscent to the beatles, maybe that's why it makes it such a great song? No, but that is one reason. If you listen closely to the song, you'll realize that this is one of Madonna's finest songs in so many years, and one of the underlying highlights of her new album "Music". The beat and rythym to the song, sound much like it is Midwestern Folk and R&B fused together, to make a perfect combination of a sound that hasn't been heard in a long time maybe at all, especially very un-madonna like. When you first put the CD on, you might think your CD is scratched, but no, that is just the cool guitar effect that gives the album an extra boost. Madonna's vocals are at their finest, and as you can see she is so confident in this song, that other artists should be ashamed of the way they sing. One of the best songs of 2001! If you have a good ear for music, then this is the CD for you, get it while you still can!
