Album Description Second single off the 2001 debut album for the first 'virtual band', featuring contributions from Miho Hatori, Jamie Hewlett, Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Tina Frantz, Damon Albarn and Ibrahim Ferrer. Tracks, 'Clint Eastwood', 'Clint Eastwood' (Ed Case Refix), 'Dracula' and the CD-ROM video for the title track. 2001 release. Slimline jewel case.
Album Details The side project of Damon Albarn (Blur), Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Dan the Automator Nakamura and Jamie Howlett. 'Clint Eastwood' is genuine roots reggae based, as is companion track 'Dracula', and easily exceeds most of Blur's output of the last few years (Except 'Song 2'). Each single they release includes a most intriguiging enhanced section. Hey Hey, they're the monkeys! (See illustrations inside).

I'm useless but not for long, the future's comin' on... April 15, 2001 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
WOW!What an extremely left field bombardment of the senses. Kudos to the Gorillaz, especially Damon Albarn on the heels of his incredible 'Ravenous' soundtrack, who united music and art with the brilliantly talented Jamie Hewlitt. 'Clint Eastwood' is a great, catchy tune with clever lyrics and oddly inspiring mesh of creative forces. Del's rap through the middle of the song is pretty fresh. All in all just a great breath of fresh air in a time of stale music. Additionally on this CD is a quicktime movie of the band's video for 'Clint Eastwood' which features incredible art and animation led by Hewlitt. The film work and imagery is really great, and it makes the song even more powerful after a couple viewings. ... Gorillaz are perhaps the coolest multimedia package yet. Hold your heads up high, guys. You rock.
Gorillaz Rock ! April 28, 2001 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Funny how I discovered the group. My 5 year old was watching Channel V, an Asian Video channel. He told me about the "sunshine" song. He said there were singing monkeys in it. Of course, that piqued my interest. So, I watched Channel V for a few, and the video came on. Clint Eastwood rocked. Its a very catching and addictive song. Not only for adults, but for 5 year olds as well. I bought the CD right away. I have been told, by the 5 year old, that he likes the slow version of the song the best. I have to agree with him.
Chicks 'n Dudes Gorillaz are really kickin' tunes! October 20, 2001 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This CD is great! I love this song, in fact it is so catchy that I had this song stuck in my head for a month after I first heard it! The remix is a little weird but the original version I highly reccomend. If your a fan of rap, this cd is totally right for you! And when you start listening to the song don't blow it off because of the beginning, you have to listen to the whole song to know if you like it or not. I HIGHLY reccomend this CD for you, the song is catchy and the rappin' is great! You HAVE to get this "I command you to!"
The new Monkees April 24, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Gorillaz blends the musical talents of Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, Blur's Damon Albarn, Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori, and the Tom Tom Club's Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz with the arresting visuals of Jamie Hewlett, best known as the creator of the cult comic "Tank Girl"."Clint Eastwood" is a Mad Professor style dub which would not be out of place on a Tom Tom Club CD. Unfortunately, the manic remix suffers from an extreme case of time compression and the laid back vibe of the original single is obliterated to no good end. "Dracula" gets the groove back on track. The video is a welcome addition and alone is worth the price of admission.
Fast Or Slow May 29, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Whether you like the fast version or the slow version of this song you have to admit thats its excellent and very catchy. Damon ALbarn lends his vocals on this track which seems to be taking the world by storm due to its originality and top video. If you like this then i recommend their album you wont be dissapointed
