    5 out of 5 stars More Of A Mixture   April 3, 2001
11 out of 15 found this review helpful

Now 6 has more of a varied musical range than Now 5, which i think will appeal to a larger audience. Now 6 contains artists like Brittny Spears, Smantha Mumba and Destinys Child, but it also contains artists like Coldplay(excellent song), Lenny Kravitz and U2. Its good for a cd to have a varied range as it gives its listeners the change to listen to new music without having to buy all of the artists individual albums. (Best Now To Date)

4 out of 5 stars It's like having a hit music station in your home...   April 14, 2001

This is a pretty good CD, but it could have been better. I had heard and liked a lot of the songs before buying it which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Here's my breakdown of the songs on it:

    1. Stronger- (my score: 5/5) This is one of the few Britney Spears songs that I actually like, so I was glad it's on here.

    2. Gotta Tell You- (5) I love this song. Her voice sounds cool.

    3. Bye Bye Bye- (5) Same as Britney's...

    4. Around the World- (4) I also love this song, but it's annoying when you get it in your head...

    5. Love Don't Cost a Thing- (2.5) This song would have been better if it hadn't been overplayed and I liked her.

    6. Independent Woman Pt.1- (3.5) Pretty good song, but a little to repetitive.

    7. It Wasn't Me- (3.5) This is a song I love/hate. I love the tune and vocals, but don't like the lyrics.

    8. No More- (3) An ok song. I normally skip it.

    9. Crazy- (3) Another ok song that I normally skip.

    10. I Wish- (3.5) I don't normally like his music, but it's not *that* bad.

    11. Shape of My Heart- (4) Not their best song, but it has grown on me.

    12. Crazy for This Girl- (5) I love this song! It's so sweet.

    13. Yellow- (4) A good song, but I generally skip it.

    14. Again- (4)I like this song, but it isn't one of my favorites.

    15. Hemorrhage- (3.5) It's ok, but it gets to me for some reason.

    16. With Arms Wide Open- (4) I love Creed and this song is great, only problem is that it has been overplayed way too much.

    17. Drive- (5) Another song I love. I listen to it a lot.

    18. Beautiful Day- (5) Here's another one I love. It's just a great song.

    19. AM Radio- (4) I like Everclear, but this isn't one of my favorites by them. It's still good though.

All in all, this is a pretty good CD. I'd suggest buying it if you like the songs. Most of them are well-known, so I didn't go into detail in my overview. I just gave my opinion. I hope it helped some...

    5 out of 5 stars =) Definitely 5 star Material   May 10, 2001
7 out of 9 found this review helpful

This CD gets the 5 stars purely on the variety of artists in Pop, Rock, R&B, and Dance. It's another great installment of the "Now" series. There are a few songs I don't care for, that's just me, but it still receives 5 stars in my review. Some of the songs that are absolutely worth getting the CD for are: Nsync > "Bye, Bye, Bye" Samantha Mumba > "Gotta Tell You" Lenny Kravitz > "Again" Everclear > "AM Radio" Britney Spears > "Stronger" K-CI & Jojo > "Crazy" U2 > "Beautiful Day" Destiny's Child > "Independent Women Pt.1" Backstreet Boys > "Shape of My Heart" Shaggy F/ Rik Rok > "It Wasn't Me" (an edited version) Jennifer Lopez > "Love Don't Cost A Thing." I'm sure the other songs are good, but the ones I just listed are, to me, the better ones on the CD. Still 5 star material and one the best complilations out there today (until "Now 7" =]). Keep those music hits coming!

3 out of 5 stars Mostly innocent   April 3, 2001

I usually let my kids buy the NOW cds. When my daughter brought home #6 with Shaggy's song on it, I was very disappointed. Usually the music is appropriate for all ages, but the Shaggy song is DEFINITELY not appropriate for young teens and pre-teens! If they left this song off, I would have rated it higher.

    5 out of 5 stars Kid Approved Now 6   April 4, 2001
6 out of 8 found this review helpful

A version of NOW 6 is available without the Shaggy song, which some parents may not feel appropriate for their pre-teen audiece. This "Kid Safe" version only has 18 tracks instead of 19. This version is advertised on NICK and come with a bonus cd carrying case. Currently, it is only sold through an 800 number. Perhaps Amazon could make 18 track version available for parents purchasing for their kids.
