5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fantastic!   March 20, 2001
Eric R. Hale (Naperville, IL USA)

I heard "Weir" on the radio while staying in a hotel in Australia. It was like an infection. I could not get the song out of my head. I was on a mission to find the CD. It turns out that they only had released singles and I could not find Weir. I asked a local about them and he told me that they were basically a local band (from the Northeastern Victorian town of Violet Town) that was just making it big. So, I traveled back to the States with only a memory (and an couple MP3s I found on Naperster). A friend sent me the CD the day that it was released in Australia. I have been a huge fan ever since.

This is only of those CD that I can just pop in my CD play an leave it on repeat.

Click the samples and hear it for yourself. The whole album is that good!

I can't wait for them to start touring in the US.

Every song on this cd is incredible. Ella's vocals can not be beat. And the lyrics her and her bro wrote are awesome. They are a wonderful live band as well as in the studio. It is a must have cd please buy. The new cd is awesome as well listen to the new heavensent single and spread the word!

5 out of 5 stars Lucky to have found ya Heidi!   May 24, 2001

I can't believe how well this album was produced. Guitar rifs, percussion and Ella providing her own background vocals are all amazing! First saw them at an International Festival in Phoenix in March (and if you happen to read this ...Heidi...sorry about the little boy running around wildly in front of the stage!) What a work of art. Truly shows their dedication to making it big...Fave tracks...Superman/supergirl, Leave me Alone,Live with outit, Jon's song and Black Sheep. The lyrics are deep and perfect for anyone who's looking for that relation to meaning in their life. Quiet refrains and hard chorus give you a break from the repetitive U.S. bands. Comparative to Hole and No Doubt...There is NO DOUBT in my mind they are a blast to listen to!

5 out of 5 stars This is such a good CD!   April 2, 2001

This CD is SO good! Every song is a good song, which is a rare thing these days. As an Australian living in America, I am so pleased that such a good band has come from Australia. Their songs vary from Class Celebrities, which is heavy on the electric guitar (and beautiful all the same) to Weir, which is a much slower song. All 12 tracks are well done. I first heard about them when I was visiting my best friend in July 2000. So i went home and downloaded Mascara from Napster and was hooked from then on. I ordered the CD on March 17 from Amazon and had it in my hands on the 22nd. I've been listening to it nonstop ever since. Killing Heidi is definitely one of my top three bands. It's a great CD, you won't be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars Not girl-punk by any means but they rock   March 12, 2002

Killing Heidi, although too poppy for many, rock much harder than many bands today. Ella Hooper, the teenage lyricist and front-girl, is fairly incredible with a voice that would be hard to match. The rest of the band (including Ella's brother Jesse) puts out some great music to back up Ella. Together they've got an album that's, not only really good, but totally fun to listen to. Grab this if a radio-friendly track or two don't force you to turn up your elitist nose.
