Pop's "bad girl" continues to reign her throne! March 26, 2002 Eric Smith (Pittsburgh, PA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
...but will anyone challenge her? I'd like to see someone try. But it might be diffacult since Willa is HOT and has a decent VOICE and can definatly shake her MOVES in the video for this song. Accompanied by DJ Clue's Desert Storm label rapper Royce Da 5'9" (Using Eminem terms such as "...needs a real slim shady to please stand up"), Willa definatly let's us know she is The Bad Girl and does so along with catchy Pop/R&B-like background music. I can't wait for a next album with another Hit song...better yet, anyone wanna challenge her as Pop's Bad Girl? I'd like to see another "The Boy is Mine" type brawl...hehe :)
she's better than..... December 8, 2001 joe (penang, malaysia) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
first saw her in her MTV of this title and i think she's better than some of the pop princess in the pop industry! i'm not saying this because she's pretty, well, to be honest, i never into britney, just annoys me, i always look for unique and special, well, willa has done a good number, may be it's just the song itself but she definitely develop it perfectly, the remixes? well, sad to say this, i was actually giving a 5 stars for this single but the remixes just turn me off, the original will do and it's the best, may be better get her album instead of her single, well, personal opinion, no offense! tehe!
You Know I Love Her..... October 25, 2001 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
First, to everyone who thinks she can't sing: Shut up. Now that that's out of the way, this is one of my very favorite artists so far this year. She's strong, talented, attractive, and she isn't afraid of who she is. Really, I mean, with all the phoniness in pop music right now (I'm not even going to mention who I'm talking about, but you know.), Willa is a breath of fresh air with strong lyrics, fun songs, and great rythms. Even if she doesn't have the vocal ability of Christina Aguilera, well, not too many do. This single proves my point. With the dance mixes, teasing lyrics, and overall flirtatious feeling, it's one of her best. I think the second version (The one feat. Royce) is the best version, though not the original. And she writes her own songs! No one who writes their own songs ever seems to get the props for doing it, but Ms. Williford: You've done an excellent job. You can feel what she's going through on her debut album "Willa Was Here," and really appreciate her best in "Tired." And I don't think the track has that much to do with being a singer. Everyone was criticizing and making fun of her while she was dating a boy band member who I won't name. Everyone is still accusing her of mooching record deals by involving herself in a relationship with him. Well, maybe she did. But shame IS the game you play for fame, and someone needs to say it. Why not pop's bad girl? The song isn't about being a world-famous singer. No! Not at all! It's about being bashed all the time because of her past....
remixes came too late to save the song August 23, 2001 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
First of all, like my title says, these remixes came to late for the club crowd. But, if you like Willa you'll be intrested anyway:1. Mike Rizzo Club Mix (6.39): Love this mix it speeds up the chorus vocals but keeps the verse vocals at almost regular speed. Really cool beat. Best mix in my opinion. 2. Sal Parm {of Plasmic Honey}Club Mix (9.14): Sal doesn't do a very good job. The track is cool but the vocals are way too slow for the bpm (beats per minute). Same goes for his radio edit. 3. Mike Rizzo Hyper Vocal Mix (6.09): Hyper vocal indeed. If I didn't know the words to this song by memory I wouldn't be able to understand the verses in this mix. They just go by too fast. 4. Sal Parm Dub (7.14): Very, very disappointing. Usually, even when the mix is bad, remix artists have a chance to redeem themselves on their dub but not Sal Parm. I really expected better mixes form him. 5. Sal Parm Radio Edit (3.59): See Track 2 I'd give 3 stars but the mixes were too late.
Great Song! September 3, 2001 Tina Chu (Diamond Bar, CA USA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
A lot of people hate Willa Ford because of the whole BSB thing...but she really has great songs! "I Wanna Be Bad" is a very upbeat dance-pop song. I would actually recommend her CD: "Willa Was Here"; it has more awesome songs by this artist!
