The Most Underrated Singles of 2002... March 10, 2003 Eric Smith (Pittsburgh, PA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's a shame that in early 2002 the singles "Never Too Far" or "Don't Stop" didn't get played. People were too buisy focusing on Tommy Matolla's sabotoge on how "crazy" she was. It's a shame that her singles didn't go to number one, which they should have. "Dont Stop" featuring Mystikal is a gitty little 80's inspired dance tune that's so darn catchy it'll have you put it on repeat. Mariah always wanted to sing backup vocals for a hip hop artist, and in this song she gets to do so. Produced by DJ Clue and "Duro", "Don't Stop (Funkin 4 Jamaica)" is one of her best singles and was probably panned by critics because of the hip hop elements. But notice how no one ever said anything about how she was dressing in the video for it? She was dressing just fine! Also, the 2nd single is the most underrated song of hers. "Never Too Far" is a beautiful ballad produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (most notably working on all of Janet Jackson's songs) and has beautiful but sad lyrics about loosing loved ones (though not made regarding 9/11, it helped some people cope with it). While singles like "Hot In Herre", "Girlfriend (remix)", "Complicated" and "1000 Miles" got played non-stop till the point of annoyance, we missed 2 beautiful ones right here. Don't worry Mariah, your fans still appreciate your work! You didn't let us down. reccomended to any Mariah fan or open-minded music lover. T his was one of the BEST singles of 2002 and it's a shame it was overlooked. A+(+) for both. PS: the remixes on this disc are good too, not to mention an enhanced video.
Never Too Far April 17, 2003 steven (Malaysia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Personally,i like the song,Never Too Far.I was blown away when i first listened this song.It is a great ballad from Mariah. It is definitely better than some of her previous ballads, such as When You Believe,I Still Believe. You can feel the pain and heartache when you listen to this song. And not too forget, her amazing angelic voice that is shown at the end of the song.Dont Stop is an upbeat hip-hop song.I find it catchy and it is a new style of music from Mariah.I think it is far better than some of her hip-hop work in Rainbow. The reason i give this CD-single 4 stars is i dont really like Loverboy.
Great New Mariah Single!! August 24, 2002 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Mariah Really pulls it together with this great import.Track Listing 1.) Never to Far (radio edit*) - great ballad, yet short enough that it doesn't get tiring. really shows off Mariah's vocals! 2.) Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica) (Album Version) feat. Mystikal - This song is really good. At first I thought it was produced by the Neptunes but it's produced by DJ Clue. I think it's overall pretty good but Mariah could of picked someone alot better then Mystikal. I mean come on.... how many times does he have to say "shake ya ass"? he says it in every song, or hey says "get on the floor" about 50 times. I think someone more mellow and a better rapper Like : Fabolous or Nas would have done a great job. and about 2:40's into the song mariah dumps her smooth hydrolic vocals and lets out her inner soul and really belts out, trying to sing over Mystikals cheesy catch phrases. 3.) Loverboy (Drums of Love : Instrumental Remix) - I think that this is a really cool take on Loverboy... it starts off like a simple club mix but then enters into this fantastic remix journey, and it has little remixed samples of Mariah's laughing in the background. This is a must for any Mariah fan, import fan, or dance fan. It's really rare. So pick it up!

I think this Single is a must for any mariah fan ....the track "never too Far" is beautiful and "don't stop" is sooo funky her voice sounds great on both songs ....well done mariah!! It's a shame people have greatly underrated the "glitter" album and movie.
"Never Too Far" is a great song June 29, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love "Never Too Far", and the whole "Glitter" album. It's a shame that she was so messed-up afterwards. Otherwise, I think the album may of done better.
