Tragically, it was during the filming of the video for this song that Aaliyah tragically perished in an aviation accident. The beautiful, young, and talented star who was bound for greatness left the world suddenly, but her work will live on forever. "Rock the Boat" will appeal to anyone who not only appreciates quality music, but also anyone who like Aaliyah, fulfilled a dream and made an impact in the world, regardless if their deed/contribution was great or small.

Definitely one of 2001's best songs!

I love Aaliyah and she will live through her music. This is the best song and video Aaliyah has ever done.She just flows with the best beat Tim has ever layed down.

Of course she has and amazing voice but there was not a good

From all the different Aaliyah singles released this has to be one of the best for it's phenomenal production, sound, and mixes. It has the regular version, 2 mixes, and the video for it's title, "Rock The Boat". This is a beautiful song with a refreshing aura of love, romance, feeling sexy, or just fantasizing. Aaliyah's voice is so beautiful--sexy without effort, soft but not lacking, soulful but not harsh, and edgy without overdoing it.

The first track "Rock The Boat" [4:34] is the regular version many have already heard in her album releases as it has a nice refreshing Caribbean sound with beautiful lyrics, and lovely singing.

The second is her Club Mix by Mixzo [5:18] which is my favorite for the extra sounds, diverse effects, and enhanced production that only adds to the beauty of it without loosing the original feel yet definitely making a noticeable creation.

The third mix, by Doug Lazy [4:26] is a faster paced style with a dance friendly vibe that can definitely be played in any club, party, or event. It's a fantastic number for a work-out and definitely highly energetic, and uplifting.

The video "Rock The Boat" has history, meaning, and impact not only for the fact of what happened but because it was her most hard worked video ever. She mentioned on many documentaries how important it was for her to make this video her best as she was a more mature artist and wanted that to be reflected. To this day, it is one of her best if not her best. The video has an array of clips from her dancing with other dancers in a boat, to an array of outfits, settings, and styles that are just totally striking, classy, and like no other.
