I give it more than 5 stars! February 28, 2003 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This CD is a Must have!!! I LOVE the CD and listen to it like, all the time. You'll fall in love with songs like, "Walkin the Country," "Homespun Love," and "Just Some Love." The other songs are unbelievable too! It's got a great beat. You'll just want to hear it over and over again(I know I always do:) You might also enjoy the song, "Some Days You Gotta Dance." You might know it from the Dixie Chicks' version. If you love Keith Urban like I do, you'll love this CD, or this can be a great chance to get to know more about Keith's music(It's more than words can say) So, you should defiantly consider getting this CD, I know I love it!

If you like Keith Urban's "Golden Road", you will like this CD. I bought Keith Urban's solo U.S. release and I loved it. Then I read somewhere that he used to be in a band called "The Ranch". So, I began my hunt. This was before I was aware of Amazon. After months of searching, I finally found it in a used Cd store. The songs on here are great. Keith either wrote or cowrote nine or the twelve songs. There are upbeat, toe-tapping songs like "Walkin' the Country" and "Freedom's Finally Mine". You might recognize "Some Days you Gotta Dance" from when the Dixie Chicks covered it. Keith actually played the guitar on their album for the song. Then there are ballads like "My Last Name" and "Desiree" will break your heart. "Glutterbilly" is an instrumental and "Ghost in this Guitar" is Awesome! The guitar playing on that song is fantastic. It really shows off his talent. If you're a fan of Keith Urban (The style of music is closer to "Golden Road" album then to his debut U.S. release) or a fan of Country-Rock, then you will like this Cd and it is a must for your collection.
First and Best October 5, 2004 B K Fisher (Nashville, TN.) This is the first time America got to here the unique country sound of The Ranch. Fronted by Keith Urban, The Ranch walks the edge of rock and country in this debut release. The first cut, "Walk In The Country" gets the blood pumping and hints at the sound of The Ranch. "Just Some Love" first strikes you as another cheesy love ballad, but it's catch phrases will keep this song in your head all day long. If "Some Days You Gotta Dance" doesn't get you dancing, then you need to turn up the volume. If you like haunting country ballads with an edge, "Ghost In This Guitar" will be one you listen to more than a few times. Overall a really good CD, if you like a little spice in your country. It is better than anything Urban has done since going solo, and always finds a place in my CD player a few times a year.
