Get this album if you like Nevermore March 23, 2003

This album sounds like rough Queensr˙che vocals, with a thrashy Nevermore. Buy this if you like bands like the ones I'm describing the band like only. This album sounds like a decent freshmen album for the band, but not super. I hear a lot of good ideas here in the songs, but seems as if the mix of the album and how they write the album sort of didn't help the songs work. The Start of the album will drag some so skip to track 4 I suggest. Now onto my review of the songs: 1. Mortal Coil- A decent song, I like the guitar, the vocals are ok, but it feels like the song ain't going anywhere. ....85%2. Desire Brings- Cool intro to the song. Very spooky. But the music is somewhat interesting. It gets faster and all, and good guitar solos, but somehow it's missing something. Maybe it's just me but it's vocals, don't fit with the guitar on this track. ...85%3. Orpheus- A decent song with good guitar and vocals. It seems , slow songs are something this band should try more often. Then ofcoarse the band starts going fast after while, but this song holds to the end, showing to be a good effort on the part of the band. ..95%4. Innocent- Decent faster song, with interesting lyrics. One of the best of the album. ....95% 5. Flames of Anger- Cool intro, to a heavy morbed sounding song. Reminds me of Nevermore from the album "Dreaming Neon Black". THis song is decent for headbanging. ...90% 6. Waiting in Shadows- Somewhat ok but isn't the best, Sort of a filler track. But not annoying anyways. ..85%7. Sugarcoated- Good lyrics but the music could be better. In Short not enough EarCandy in this song. ...85% 8. Wheel of Life- Cool faser song with good lyrics. Great Guitar solos and all. ....95% 9. Bridge of Uncertainty- Cool song. Somewhat a slower thinker track. Good track. ...90% 10. Malevolent Sky- This Song is Heavy and Wicked. The most messed up track on the album. Be Ready to Headbang! ...100%11. Forgotten Names - Decent ending track, dealing with being forgootten after death. Somewhat Sad song. ..90% If you like this album, May I suggest: Nevermore- Dreaming Neon Black, Nevermore- Dead Heart in a dead World, Angeldust- Bleed, Angeldust- Border of Reality,
