differentSeptember 2, 2007 James B. Whitney(Minneapolis, MN. USA) Subway to Sally is part of a musical trend in Europe known as "Mittelalter rock" which translates as medieval rock. This style combines medieval song strutures and heavy metal. Good stuff. I own several Subway to Sally cds which are definately greatly influenced by old music. This cd is probably their least medieval sounding of all the discs of theirs that I have. It is, nevertheless good metal a bit in the directio of Rammstein. Here and there there are some bits of bagpipe and other more traditional insrumentation but on the whole this is mostly modern metal. The songs deal with interesting subjects if you speak German which is also typical of the bands' other work. If you are already a fan, get this, if not, try Nakt which is their most traditional medieval album or for a mix of trad and metal try Hochzeit, Bannkreis, or Foppt den Daemon.
