Two amazing songs! June 14, 2000 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I was blown away when I heard "Por Siempre Tu", the Spanish version of "I Turn To You". Christina really impressed me with that song. She proves with these two songs that she has the versatility, style, and technique to last in the business for a very long time. Also, the video of "I Turn To You" is very beautiful and the story behind it is something that everyone can relate to. I strongly recommend that you buy this single, it's well worth the money.
Amazing, to think it's from a teenage singer June 14, 2000 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I Turn To You is a song I cannot get tired of. Christina Aguilera has displayed a wide vocal range in this song and put enough emotions to put her on par with singers like Celine Dion and Michael Bolton. Indeed, it is amazing to expect such a high quality from a teenage singer. The lyrics and music of the song is beautifully and powerfully written by the legendary Diane Warren, and watching the video, I reckon it is a song written as a tribute to mothers. Easily it can move one to tears.Por Siempre Tu is the Spanish version of I Turn To You and it further demonstrates Christina's capability and talent in able to sing well in another language. The video is a bonus because enhanced CD's and videos are not very easily available, especially with Sony artists. Very well arranged, and makes this whole CD a definite must buy. US$4 ++ is not really a problem to many.

The Most Amazing Ballad Of ALL TIME! June 13, 2000 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've heard many great songs in my lifetime but none so moving and inspirational as I Turn To You. Sung by Grammy Award winning artist Christina Aguliera, the song is the highlight of her debut self-titled album. I Turn To You allows Christina to maximize her vocal power and she does this in full effect. The song starts of very soft, with a beautiful interlude that increases the emotional setting for the song. Lyrically the song is simply touching. Written by music's greatest songwriter Diane Warren, the song talks about having someone to turn to when you struggle in this world making it a song that all of us can relate to. As the song moves hits it's emphatic climax, you will be amazed on how Christina hits this emotional notes with ease and with passion in her voice, something you don't here in Britney Spears, or Mandy Moore. Kudos to producer Guy Roche, for finding the perfect arrangement to complement Christina's truly heart -warming voice. A ballad that stands above all the rest and one that if it doesn't hit number one, will show how radio rejects songs we need to here, in favor of junk like Eminem's latest The Real Slim Shady. The single itself features the Spanish verison of the song Por Siempre Tu which is well done, and if you have a computer you can watch the video of a song that proves who the real leader in the battle for top teenage female artist really is.PS-Diane Warren is the best songwriter ever. Her music and words continue to be a driving force in my life. Thank you Diane for writing such an incredible song and I hope you and Christina continue to work together to create more memorable music in the future!
I Turn To You Review June 30, 2000 3 out of 17 found this review helpful
I've heard this song soooo many times and I am a little sick of it. You people just don't realize that this song is just a copy of Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" only with a little change in lyrics. Even when you watch the video she looks like she's having a seizure with arms and hands going back and forth and up and down. And yes, you may say that she is "singing from the heart" oh but you wish she was because she is *cough* copying *cough* that from Mariah Carey and don't tell me that is not true because she had her start in 1995, way before Aguilera and just watch some of her videos like Crybaby, etc. and plus she tries to sing like Carey too. I mean Christina might have talent but I like to hear some true talent. Plus who would want to hear the same song in a different language, not me. I'm not saying that she is bad or what not but the truth of the matter is that if she can't develop her own style of singing, just get out of the business. It's ok to idolize people and stuff and to have little spurts of song directed at your idols once and a while but don't do the same stuff as your idols when you sing. Even if she doesn't idolize Dion or Carey she should make *HER* music and not copy. You might not like it but I'm speaking the truth.
