2 out of 5 stars Not A Convincing Naughty Girl   June 5, 2004
5 out of 11 found this review helpful

Everything else on Beyonce's stunning debut solo album, "Dangerlously In Love," works except for this heap-of-garbage 'song' that she calls "Naughty Girl." It is sad when you see a talented woman like Beyonce waste her time cowriting and coproducing tunes such as this. It is even sadder when the main producer behind it is Scott Scorch. The man who gave Christina Aguilera her new edge for "Stripped," the man behind the majority of Dr. Dre's stuff, one of the best songwriters/producers to hire right now. But let's continue to focus on "Naughty Girl." "Naughty Girl" is supposed to be a sexy track, but Beyonce sings in a terrible falsetto and tries too hard to come off as sexy. That turned this listener off and is one of the main reaosns I skip that track when listening to her album.

Not surprisingly, the song has become a bonafide hit and as of right now, resting comfortably at #3 on Billboard's Hot 100. What do people see in lyrics like: "I'm feeling sexy/I wanna hear you say my name boy/ If you can reach me/ You can feel my burnin' flame" ???? It's Beyonce's sad attempt at being risque and she doesn't need to be told twice to stick to her guns (Crazy In Love, Baby Boy, Me, Myself and I type material).

But I'll give Beyonce some credit here. The song has a catchy chorus that ladies abroad will love singing. I only hope Donna Summer forgives Beyonce.

Beyonce does an amazing job on this song. Her falsetto in the song is exotic and intoxicating. She glides over the song effortlessly. The music actually matches the lyrics too. I love this song and it just went to #1 on the singles chart

    1 out of 5 stars Oversampled   April 1, 2004

It just surprises me when it really comes toward songs by Beyonce. At first, she seemed to be alright to listen to, but she seems to really be turning into another one of those manufactured rip-offs. Her latest song, Naughty Girl, is not really an enjoyable song. I really thought that it just wasn't anything exciting or uplifting to enjoy. The song at the very beginning samples Donna Summer's Love To Love You Baby. The song just simply is the beginning of her overexposure. I think it has to be one of the worst songs I've ever heard right now. As for her, I just hope she reunites with Destiny's Child soon. She just seems to be lost right now.

5 out of 5 stars TONIGHT! I'LL BE YOUR NAUGHTY BOY!   May 11, 2004

Beyonce fourth single to rocket to the top 5, this lady is so talented, I can't get enough of the video, it looks so sexy and reminds me a lot of the good videos the used to make, and + it includes Usher, hope Chilli doesn't get mad!, The song Naughty Girl is a affirmattion of the funkyness inside Beyonce, this song is so naughty in fact it includes a interpolation of Donna Summer "I Love To Love You Baby", the remix are ok, but the cleverness and sassyness of the original version makes this a 5 stars song!, great delivery and hope it goes to #1 next week.

beyonce used her old chant love to love you baby i prefer donna summer's version where she have orgasms on record to this, this isn't bad but i heard naughtier songs but hey whatever sells.
