    Editorial Reviews:

    Album Description
The Warner Bros. action comedy New York Minute, starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, follows one monumental day in the lives of 17-year-old sisters Jane and Roxanne Ryan, adversaries who begrudgingly journey together from their Long Island home to New York City. Music plays an integral part of this movie, and it's all on the Elektra soundtrack, which features a lineup of hip, hot artists including Jason Mraz, Jet, Simple Plan, The Donnas, Steadman, Junior Senior and many more.

4 out of 5 stars Suprisingly good   December 30, 2004

After watching movies, I sit through the credits. New York Minute entirely redeemed itself by putting Jason Mraz at the beginning of its credits. I couldn't find the song anywhere else, so I had to buy the soundtrack, and it really it a suprisingly good mix of music.

Curbside Prophet '04 is one of the best songs on the soundtrack. If you don't have another reason to buy the CD, this is it.

Vacation could be called the main song in NYM.. it is very catchy.

Hey Driver has grown on me.. once again a very catchy song.

Suffragette City is the song that is performed at the very end of the movie.. this is not the movie version. The movie version is much shorter with less actual music.

Rubberneckin'. Who doesn't like Elvis? (Even if you don't, you know you love this song)

Some of the songs are slow, but the majority of the album is composed of a great variety of music (that is appropriate for children as well).

5 out of 5 stars Best cd i've ever owned!!!   November 6, 2004

Here is my thoughts of this cd:
1.Curbside project 1/5 I usally skip this song it's kinda boring
2.Vacation 100000000000/5 The best song by simple plan and the cd.
    3. Hey Driver 5/5 The 2nd best song on the cd
    4. Suffragette City 5/5 You can barley hear MK but it still rocks.
    5. Wave Goodbye 5/5 It's the only slow song,but it's still good.
    6. Shake your cocunuts 5/5 crazy song and cool
    7. Rubberneckin' 4/5 I know it's old but Elvis os the king of Rock so you gotta love it.
    8. Please don't tease 5/5 This is a good song I'm happy to see the donna's on the cd.
    9. One way or another 5/5 Even though it's from the 80's you gotta love it.
    10. Shake it 5/5 One of the other great song on the cd.
    11. Doing time 41/2 /5 I woulda given this 5 stars but it's kinda slow.
Bring on the Bling 0/5 I don't really give a damn for rap.

3 out of 5 stars Simple Plan and Jason Mraz   May 7, 2004

The best singers/bands are probaly Simple Plan and Jason Mraz, why because they rock! Also Mary-Kate gets to sing so you get to hear her.

    5 out of 5 stars Best Movie...Good Soundtrack   May 8, 2004
2 out of 5 found this review helpful

This soundtrack really grasps the whole movie. I went to see it on opening night and went out the next day to buy the soundtrack. It is exactly like I thought it would be and I really enjoy it. This movie proves that Mary-Kate and Ashley are really breaking out of their childhood stero type. For all those people that diss the Olsen's and make fun of them...they are so successful in what they do...they have fans and a billion dollar company which they are going to become co-presidents for in less than a month. They are incredible role models for girls everywhere proving that you can do anything you put your mind to. They have accomplished this and they are only 17. What do you have to show for your life?

    3 out of 5 stars a good soundtrack...but i want better.   May 10, 2004

being a manhattan girl myself i could not help but listen to the new york minute soundtrack.
i was satisfied with it, however, there is only so much a soundtrack can ever really do for you.
the donnas bring a much needed track to the album and simple plan is also featured.
i did not at all like mary-kate's pethetic attemp at sining but the rest was all and all a good soundtrack.
even if you did not like the movie give the new york minute soundtrack a chance, you will probally like it.
it has a little something for everyone.
