Album Description Taken from the 2003 album 'Call Off The Search'. The title track is backed with 'Downstairs To The Sun' & 'Thank You, Stars'. Melua's laid-back bluesy pop has been compared to Norah Jones & Eva Cassidy. Dramatic.
Album Details The First Single to Be Released from Katie Melua's Monster Debut Album is the Sublime 'the Closest Thing to Crazy'. The Single features Two Songs Not Included on the 'call off the Search' Album.

Great voice and singer! January 22, 2004 Paul J. Nodine 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
If you like The Closest Thing to Crazy, (...) this one of the best cd's of the year in my opinion. If you like Norah Jones, you will for sure like this one and I reckon you will never take it off your CD player!
Jazzy Irish-American Lass punchs way above her age! December 9, 2003 16 out of 19 found this review helpful
I dont normally review, I just ain't that kind of guy, I pay my taxes, go to work, buy a CD and chill.. .anything else is just a hassle! So why write a review? Because in short this album just demands attention in oh so many wonderful ways.... Take a much travelled teenager, give her Norah Jones-eque vocals with a splash of showtime and blues and you have something that really snarls, mellows and gracefully takes you along a wonderful journey! Standout trackes like the gliding jazz laden "The closest thing to Crazy", the lead single I believe stand testimony that even a lazy-ass kind of guy like me can be stirred into doing his first review..! Buy now folks and relax, Katie has you in safe hands.
Close but no cigar! January 14, 2004 Robin Sizemore (High Point, NC) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Listners will be more impressed to know that Katie is not Irish American... but in fact Georgian born ( as in former soviet republic) and Irish raised... Can't go wrong with a voice born from this beautiful country known for the gift of song and paired up with a Irish mentor of style combination.... truly gifted!
very good! May 2, 2004 natashka (finland) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
i liked this song very much-closest thing to crazy, lyrics are exellent and katie acts very well,i like her style of perfoming but i dont think that she is like norah jones,i think that she acts better( i mean katie acts better) and i like her voice and i would like to hear her songs more and more :)
Wow! January 30, 2005 E. J. Angiolillo (Philadelphia, PA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Amazing CD, considering she wrote most of her own material and she's so young! Definitely on my heavy rotation.
